    My Love/Hate Relationship with bareMinerals

I was unbelievably excited to use this I would dream about how my skin would look. When I actually used it, it was not what I expected. It didn't cover my acne scars, even though i started with concealer, and actually made them stand out. And possible the worst, you could defiantly tell I was wearing a powder makeup on my face because it didn't settle in my skin very well. The upside is that it...read more's the first foundation that actually matched my skin tone (even the fairest tone of foundation is most often too dark). Going back to visibility of the foundation, throughout the day my face would get more oily and it wouldn't make the makeup look AS harsh but my skin still didn't "glow" like in the commercials.

    I prefer Pur Minerals

Bare Escentuals can be too dry or appear cakey or un-natural at times. I really like Pur Minerals because it's not a loose powder (so you can keep it in your purse or use it for quick touch ups without making a huge mess), it's not as dry and gives a very natural appearance. People always compliment my skin when I use it.

    not really impressed

It does a great job of evening out your skin tone, while it lasts. I really liked this product, it did a pretty good job of controling my acne, it did a great job of hiding my under eye circles on those tired days, but i cant give this a 10 because it just doesnt last long on the face. It really doesnt take much to achieve the look you want, but i dont like having to reapply again and again to maintain it.

    Love it

I've never worn very much foundation. I hate thick, fake looking coats. All the foundations I've tried, I never liked...until I started using mineral make-up. I love that I can just sweep it on with a brush, for a very light natural coverage, and it doesn't look caked or shiny. I also love the BM eye shadows, and mineral veils. BUT my only comlaint is that it is all soo dadburn expensive. There a...read morere plenty of other mineral make-ups out there, and a lot of them work just as good, and are a lot cheaper. So I think when you buy BM, you are just buying the name. I still buy it though. haha.. And I personally love the brushes, and they also have really cool mascaras, which is shocking, because the only mascara I've ever liked is clinique. And believe me, I've tried them all...

    only one problem

I actually Love this product. It's the only faoundation I use, EXCEPT on super hot days. once I hit outside my face starts inching like crazy!! I fininally realized it was the make up. Now when I know it's really hot I wear just tinted moisturizer. That is the only problem I've ever found with this product.

Only use it if you want blackheads and acne!

I had clear skin before I started using this but I was looking for a product that would cover some past sun damage and hold up well to sweating, swimming etc. First off, I had to blend 3 different colors to match my skin tone ($$$$$) then, I used it for 2 months and had to stop because the blackheads on my nose and chin and acne on my chin were so bad. It also always looked "cakey" wh...read moreen I sweat. I tried Color Science on the advice of my Esthetician and Dermatologist and I love it! Same concept but better! Actually created by the original creator of Bare Minerals before they made changes! Try it - you won't regret it!

    for older ladies?

NO!! I started using BM at about age 48....used it till five years ago, when I realized that hey!! it wasn't doing anything to keep my skin young or younger looking!! Settles into fine lines and wrinkles, and can be harmful to anyone with respiratory issues.......good for younger ladies, but remember to MOISTURIZE!!

    Best Mineral Makeup

I use bareMinerals daily, and I am convinced that it is the best mineral makeup out there, I have tried all sorts of different brands and seem to always find myself coming back to this one. The SPF is really great, and the coverage is something you can build up. I break out regularly, and this really fades the redness, although a faint pinkness is still noticeable. This is your concealer, your fou...read morendation, your powder, your sunscreen, your everything!!! Love it! My only problem is that the packaging doesn't offer great portability, it can spill and become a pain to tap onto the lid later on. I recommend buying the brushes that the bareminerals store offers, and before applying, a moisturizer or a concealer assures even and smooth coverage, This is a long lasting product, and does not come off unless you take it off. I experienced no irritation what so ever. And it lasts for at least 6 months. Great value. I would never trust anything else to do the work that bareminerals does.

    This Makeup is AWFUL

Bare Escentuals made my skin red and itchy. It contains a mineral called "bismuth oxide". This mineral is crystalized and when you "buff" your makeup on, it grinds the crystals into your pores. Great "natural makeup". ha. A lot of women are allergic to bismuth. The coverage is sketchy at best. If you have nice skin to begin with, it's great. If you have wrinkl...read morees or fine lines, it just settles into them and makes them look worse. I would NOT recommend this product.

    bad product

BM is the worst make up I have ever used. I'm an esthetican and BM gives you unnatural, caked-on look plus its very messy. If you have oily skin you gotta use pressed powder! If you trying to cover a lot of blemishes it won't do it, it will look like you are wearing a lot of make up and this product contains talk which is terrible for any skin type. Try to go with other non talk powders like Jane Iredale
