I love it!

First mineral foundation I ever used
I moved on quickly to another brand. This brand is shiny and has the tin-man look if applied too heavily. Also makes me itch and burn if I have the least bit of perspiration on my face. Cakey and unnatural

Great for some, Gawdawful for others...
As a makeup artist working at a beauty store, almost 9x out of ten a day I get asked to match someone with Bare minerals. Everyone wants to know..."is it as great as the infomerical?" (Yes we do get tired of the mineral questions!) But heres the formula; if you have combination, normal, sensitive or acne prone skin, and you fall within the fairly light to golden medium range then this ...read morecould be your foundation savior! On the other hand..bad news, if you are dehydrated, have fine lines from too much sun exposure, or have a darker complexion then BE is your enemy! It should have a warning for darker skin tones "May cause extreme casperlike ghostness/ashiness". The mica in BE tends to create an ashen look. I would recommend Surreal Skin minerals makeup by Urban Decay for olive to golden complexions. It has no ash! Anyone darker then the darkest skin tone in that selection should try Pur minerals pressed compact makeup or stick to a tinted moisturizer like the one from smashbox in Dark. Your aim should be to enhance the natural glow of your darker skin tone. Do your research ladies, and have your own mind! BE has reached a cult-like following. What's good for your neighbour might not be the best for you. Also, please don't recommend this to everyone you meet and don't try to start baking with it. (joke.) For the liquid or talc phobic, I'd like to let you know, that a) talc is a mineral and b)The Primetime Primer basically contains most of the ingredients missing in BE to make it a liquid foundation. Will try again though
My complaint with this product when I tried it a few years ago was that it never seemed to last long. It looked good right when I put it on, but didn't last more than a few hours (if that). Bare Escentuals bareMineralsFoundation SPF 15
This is the one beauty product I don't mind splurging on. It gives my face a beautiful flawless finish. Normally my skin is blotchy and red, this covers every imperfection and I do not look like I'm wearing any make up! It truly is a perfect product.
