Too much bother

Very Waterproof
I bought this on the strength of a blogger's review. She said that it was the most waterproof mascara she had used. Since I'm always looking for a mascara that is truly waterproof, I bought a tube. This one did not disappoint. This mascara has a waterproof primer and then a black mascara topcoat. The primer thickens and lengthens the lashes. It has a nice thin brush which separates the lashes...read more well and can cover the small delicate lower lashes. I found that the mascara works better if you let the primer dry before applying the dark topcoat. Otherwise the two coats together are too thick when wet and tend to make the lashes stick together. The dark topcoat has a thin brush also which keeps the lashes defined. The topcoat covers the primer well, but I use two coats so there is no white show-through and so that the dark color is not faded by the primer. The mascara is very waterproof. It did not run or smear with my watery eyes or from normal crying. This mascara is more of a lengthening than thickening type of product. It gives some volume, but not a lot. If you desire that ultra thick lush look, this will probably not do enough for you. I layered this with a thickening mascara and it worked great. I applied the primer and let it dry. Then I applied a coat of a great volumizing mascara and topped it with the dark topcoat of the Maybelline mascara. The result was thick, long and waterproof lashes. It works great as a waterproofer if your overall favorite mascara is not waterproof. I removed this mascara easily with a waterproof eye makeup remover. Grey lashes?
I've always loved the look of false lashes but cannot apply them for the life of me so I was hoping this would give me the same look. It does make lashes longer but I'm not sure it really does that much to volumize. The problem is that it's hard to cover the white primer and lashes end up looking grey or frosted. Lost my lashes

Dried too hard.

Only for those with anorexic lashes
I will admit that my lashes are on the fuller side naturally, but I have to try every mascara on the market. I tried this one after trying Revlon's two-coat system (also a money waster). This mascara made my lashes stick together like magnets, causing tarantula eyes. If your lashes are on the extreme sparse side, then you might not have this problem. I actually tried the 2nd coat (black mascara) b...read morey itself and it was a good basic mascara, so it was not a total loss. But the primer clumps everything together like putting lipgloss on your lashes. Wow!
I never really ever liked Maybelline mascaras, as I felt that they just took the curl right out of my asian stick-straight lashes that always need to be curled before applying mascara. I don't wear mascara on a regular basis, but when I do, it's gotta be waterproof. This was on sale at the drugstore, and I didn't feel like paying an extra $3 for L'Oreal, so I gave this a shot. I actually really li...read moreke the result! The trick is to apply LOTS of the white microfibres, and then give it a minute or two to dry, before applying the black mascara. It actually gave me the look of of fake eyelashes! I wore it through a sweaty, high-intensity aerobic workout (45 minutes) and it lasted the whole thing, no flaking, smudging, and it kept the curl. I compared it to L'Oreal Voluminous Waterproof (on the other eye), and I think that the 2 steps makes the lashes longer by a bit more than simply mascara alone. Both lasted throughout the workout, but one is a little extra work to apply.
