My favorite oil cleanser
On days when I wear makeup (unfortunately this is most days) I always use an oil cleanser as the first step in my skin cleansing routine. This is...read more also better than the Dermalogica oil cleanser in my opinion because it is basically the same thing, for less money. You get an extra ounce and a half of Origins for $11 less than the Dermalogica PreCleanse. Comparisons aside, the Origins Clean Energy is a wonderful way to remove all your makeup in a really gentle way. This oil melts makeup in seconds. It is even safe to use on your eyes. You won't experience any stinging or irritation from this at all. This rinses clean, leaving no residue on your face, yet your skin is in no way tight or dry after using. The smell is light and slightly herbal, much like Dermalogica's PreCleanse. My ONLY gripe with this is the packaging. The bottle is beautiful and I love that I can see at any given time how much product I have left, but it does not come with a pump or a squirt cap to dispense the oil. The cap is a screw off so you have to dump the oil out into your hand. Considering that this is a slippery oil, it can make a big mess. Luckily, Origins sells pumps for this at their stores. You may also be able to get a pump at an Origins counter. The pumps are just $3, but this brings the total cost of the cleanser to $27 since the pump really is a must. The pump can be reused when you purchase your next bottle though so at least it is only a one-time purchase. I hope Origins changes the packaging for the sake of new customers. Perfection.
I got turned onto oil cleansers after testing DHC's cleansing oil...but was looking for something with more of a clean feeling and less of a "straight olive oil" feel (natural?)...well this was perfect! The oil smells amazing and the citrus scent really does "energize you" ..great after work pick up beteween work and play :) Besides that...the clean feeling and the efficiency of gentle make up rem...read moreoval (even loads of mascara and waterproof eyeliner) is amazing. yes, it does smear the make up around your face when you are rubbing it off...but after a quick rinse, your skin is left beautiful and clean. I feel like this product also brightened my skin....but maybe that's because i might not have been getting all of my eye makeup off before. This is gentle even if it goes in your eyes (though watch out contact wearers). The only con I have is that I dont know that I love the milky white substance that forms when it touches water and you have to be careful when pouring from bottle because you dont want to get water in bottle. Though the bottle is very cute, it's not very convenient that it doesn't have a pump...if it did water couldn't get in. What a suprise!
Okay, obviously, I thought a cleansing oil was going to make me break out with the intensity of Krakatoa. Boy, was I wrong. This oil smells very earthy and citrusy, and makes washing your face a joy. Smooth skin!
I love this stuff. Not only does it smell great, but it leaves my skin so soft and smooth after I used it. There is something to the theory that oil atracts oil ...it really does draw out a lot of oils and impurities in my skin. Love it!
Used it tonight for the first time. I love it. After the first use, my skin looked fresh, clear and non greasy. I have combination skin and lately have been breaking out. There isn't that tightness or drying feeling that I'm used to with other face washes...and I've tried lots of different brands/price points. Love It
My skin became very dry shortly after I turned 30. No amount of moisturizer could help me, even applying throughout the day. And each cleanser seemed to leave me dry, even if it was for sensitive or dry skin. Enter this product. Immediately, I noticed a difference. Within days my skin was no longer dry. It does remove MOST make-up but for me personally, it does not remove all mascara. So I follow up with something else. I love this stuff and will keep buying. I gave it 9 stars b/c of the mascara factor and b/c they don't provide the pump you really need for this product. Great Cleanser for Dry Skin
This is a great cleanser for dry or sensitive skin. Normally, my skin feels dry even if I use those lotion-type soap-free cleansers. Trying this product was a whole new experience. The oil actually does clean your skin well and comes off completely with a little water-no trace of oil left. Works really well!
