    the best there is

I have been using this steadily for about 6 years, and it is the only acne treatment I will use. I have tried everything--all new products and new formulations, and I keep coming back to this one. It sinks into the skin, it clears up acne overnight, and it prevents new pimples...plus its cheap!

    works well

I am so glad to have tried this product. It clears up a breakout overnight. Best thing that you can get without a dermatologist.

strongest over the counter product available

This product can be used as a spot treatment on acne all over your face and body. It works, but can dry out the skin and leave flaky rough patches that stand out more when you try to cover it with makeup, Be careful when applying on the body as it can bleach clothing, It is the strongest benzoyl peroxide product available without a prescription. If you have acne, you must have one handy at all times to treat breakouts and keep skin from getting too oily.

    Great Product

I'm a teen. At the moment, I'm trying out ProActive, but when that is not in reach, I'll use this. I noticed that if I apply it twice a day, in two weeks (at least) my nose (my major acne area) has cleared up. It drys my skin out and irritates it, so I only apply it once a day, or apply it twice a day with a strong moisturizer. It's an over all good product. It would work pretty well if you didn't have acne/only had a small ammount of it and you wanted to prevent breakouts.

    Every Girl Needs Backup

Just like with other problems a girl has to face, she needs backup in case something goes wrong. For me, this was mine when my skin decided to be horrible and give me huge zits right before big events, like weddings, parties, the prom... Like with any acne-clearing product, my acne did not go away immediately, but even the biggest, baddest zits were gone within 3 days (it did not take nearly as long for not-so-awful pimples, maybe a day or two).

    Works great for oily skin

When I had acne tried out a lot of benzoyl peroxide creams and I found that this one works the best. I noticed a difference in just about 3 days. It dries out pimples really fast so I reccommend this product for people with oily skin. I first started using it twice a day, morning and night and eventually once a day. now that my acne has subsided I only use this when I really need to

    Just for spot treatment

This stuff is way too potent to use a preventative and if I don't apply it very lightly I get a chemical burn. But, if use just a teensy bit on a blemish, it does do a great job of getting rid of it. Again, it's really for spot treatment only though.

If you have oily skin & white sheets...

... this will be perfect for you! I've been using this product for at least 10 years. It will get rid of acne in about 1-3 days... at least in my experience. It depends on how bad the particular break out is. I'll wash my face before bed (with Clean & Clear's Continuous Control Acne Face Wash), then apply this to the broken out areas. Benzoyl Peroxide products seem to be more effective for me ...read moreover the acne products using Salicylic Acid as the active ingredient. I have VERY oily skin, so if you have dry skin I would avoid this particular product. The only down side to Persa-Gel that I've experienced, is the issue with "bleaching" any fabric it comes in contact with (it does mention this on the tube). I've had to adjust by switching all my sheets, pillow cases and towels to white ones. Make sure not to wear your cute PJs to bed on nights when you use this too. :)

    Does the job

I've tried all different treatments from dermatologists to Proactive. I have combination/ very fair skin. One thing I always found with all these products is that my skin is left looking pink. Currently I use Acnefree, but I'm realizing that benzoyl peroxide cleansers are too harsh on my skin. I still need something strong to attack the occasional ugly zit and this stuff works. Of course I onl...read morey use it as a spot treatment, and on the areas where I can feel a breakout coming. I would never put it all over, because it would definitely be too much for my skin and leave it dried out I find that using a gentle foaming cleanser, toner (acnefree) and a salicylic acid gel (acnefree) along with this for spot treatment at night works well, although I'm still experimenting. For daytime, I use a gentle cleanser, toner(acnefree), a repair lotion (acnefree) and this product if I still have a persistent pimple. I always use an SPF moisturizer for the day too.
