Very good eye palette
I was delighted to get the opportunity to review this eye palette! I've been curious about how I would like it. I see that the makeup is made in the USA, yay! The case contains 10 shadows 2 of which are light enough to used as a highlighter. The case contains a mirror, very nice, although I doubt I would carry this palette in my purse. I found that the shadows are very nice feeling, and thankfully not too sparkly!!! There are 5 satiny shadows & 5 matte. They all blend well. They are very pretty shades along the pink, purple gray tones. They go on ligh, but you build more color. Long Lasting!
First of all, let's be clear, this is no replacement for Urban Decay's Naked Palettes. However, considering Naked Palettes run over $50 a pop, this palette really isn't a bad deal for $15. I was actually surprised at the quality (excluding the crappy brush). Shadow easily lasts all day with a good primer. It's also easy to blend and the colors go well together. Instructions and color combination...read mores are shown on the back of the palette if you need ideas. I was given the Nude 1 palette and will likely use 6 of the 10 colors since the other 4 are pretty dark for my skin tone. Poor Pigmentation
I used this exclusively for several weeks, all of the shades and in different combinations. I always use an eyeshadow primer. I found the La Palette Nude Intense in Nude 2 to be subtle, but not by any means intense. I had to layer and build in the darkest purple to create any sort of smoky eye, and for the high price for a drug store palette ($15.99 at Target), I just wouldn't recommend this to anyone thinking of getting a nude type palette. Great Palette
I have L' Oreal palette 2. To be honest, I was skeptical because it was a drugstore brand. I just figured it wouldn't last very long, and be in the creases of my eyes within a few hours. So...I blended the first 2 colors with the darker purple shade on the far right of the palette using the enclosed brush. They blended together really well, and created a nice plum tone overall. I went out for di...read morenner and some drinks with my girl friends, and the eye shadow lasted the entire night. A great, affordable selection of neutral colors to take from day to night!
I was SO excited to finally get my hands on a iconic neutral palette, especially at such an attractive price point. Like Urban Decay's Naked palette, L'oreal's La Palette 1 comes with an array of 10 different neutral shadows, in both satin/shimmer and matte formulations. One of my favorite things about this palette is that none of the browns in palette 1 were too cool. I'm not a huge fan of taupe...read morey browns, and I found all the honey/bronze colors to look fantastic on my Asian skin! I was also a fan of shadow #4, which I found to be a great all over lid color that could easily be made more intense with one of the darker, chocolate shadows. This is the perfect palette for girls who are just getting in to makeup- as it also comes with detailed diagrams of 4 different eyeshadow looks that are both helpful and easy to understand. Only negatives were the brush- I found it to be a little flimsy but otherwise a great product! BONUS: The matte brown shades #3, 5 and 6 are true browns without reddish undertones, that would be great for filling in brows for brunettes! Exceeds Expectations
I own the Naked palette and didn't think a drugstore brand could compare...I was very pleasantly surprised! The eye shadow goes on silky smooth. I got the L' Oreal Nude Intense palette 2. LOVE the light shimmery pinks and purple/brown shades...they go well with my honey/tan skin. I also really liked that there were step by step application instructions on the back of the palette.
