Intense, vibrant and long lasting

I received this in Moray which is a rich olive, gold color and I loved it enough to also purchase this in Lionfish, a bronze color with gold shimmer. These apply really easily. They also blend out nicely, leaving a lovely shimmer on the eyes, or you could apply without blending for a nice, intense color. These eyeliners truly are long lasting, even when you blend them out. Often times with liners that contain shimmer/sparkle, the color fades more quickly than with regular liners. These actually last longer than most conventional liners. At $20 each, these are pricey for a twist up eyeliner, but a little goes a long way. This is a unique enough product, that it is worth the money. I love the color selection and application of the Stila Smudge Sticks and I would definitely recommend them to eyeliner lovers.

Long lasting!

This Stila liner stick has real staying power. I had a problem applying it without a small noticeable line between the liner and my lashes (not a good look). It also drags my skin when I apply. The strong point is once you get it on, it stays.

SMUDGE is the Word!

I love Stila and all their products, but this eyeliner is just a mess! Firstly, the smudge factor is most definitely there, and it makes a great smokey eye easy and quick! The pigmentation is also an awesome jet black and because the formula is so emolument, it makes its mark without tugging or stretching out the eyelid. However, here comes the complains. This eyeliner is not cheap. Even though, y...read morees, it is waterproof, that says absolutely nothing for its staying power. It goes on, smudges, and then keeps smudging throughout the day! I always end up with black raccoon eyes by the second hour and on, no matter how I apply or what products I try to seal it with. It also disappears from my waterline and upper lash line just as quickly like it was never there. Maybe it's because my eyelids are more oily than others, and the humid climate I live in may be affecting the wear time, but isn't that the ideal situation to be wearing a waterproof eyeliner in the first place?! Together with the price I paid and how many times I have to reapply a day (not to mention wiping it off from under my eyes), I can't bring myself purchasing this again. It has become an eyeliner I only reach for whenever I've run out, and even then, I make sure to wear it only if I'm going out for a short time or somewhere dark so no one can see my raccoon eyes. I wish I could love this eyeliner because it has such great pigmentation and creaminess, but for the price and problems I've had, I say it's not worth it!

Pros and Cons

I like Stila's makeup line. Overall the quality and performance are great and worth the money. I bought this eyeliner in Stingray (black). For this eyeliner I have to say I do and I don't like it. Here's the pros and cons on why I feel this way. First the pros: Wonderful and intense colour, long lasting, smudges to soften easily but this must be done quickly. It is waterproof and looks nice throug...read morehout the day. Now the cons: As I mentioned this eyeliner has to be smudged to soften quickly. If the eyeliner "sets" any attempt to smudge it will cause it to flake off. Also any mistakes (i.e. a mistake such as leaving a space between liner and lashes so the skin shows) must be done immediately. If you try to apply the eyeliner over top of a line you have already drawn it will "peel" off. Being waterproof it isn't as easily removed as other eyeliners. Use an eyemakeup remover designed for removal of waterproof mascara so you don't have to do any extra rubbing on the eye area. If you like an intense eye with no softening of the line this is an excellent liner for you. If you like a liner that is more softening friendly and working quickly with makeup isn't you, then you may want to try another type of liner.

Must have product

I never used to wear eye liner but this product has converted me! I find that it goes on easily, lets you smudge it to soften it in (if you do it right away), and it lasts a long time on my. After it sets in it will not budge, but it still washes away easily when you are ready to. I do not heavily line my eyes, but for a little something extra, it is a great eye liner. I do wish I could get the point a little sharper…sometimes it seems a little too flat or dull as it comes out, but it is also handy that you do not actually need a sharpener to use it…you just twist the handle. I absolutely love it and plan to buy more in all the different colors it is available in.

Not as great as cream liner but still amazing

I love it, I love nearly everything about it. Lets start with my one and only complaint. The packaging. I could not get the pencil tip to extend at first, and then once I did it jumped out a lot and broke off about 1/4 inch of the pencil. The important stuff? The color I got (Blue Ribbon) is unbelievable. It is the perfect blue for me. It is a blue grey. It kinda reminds me of the skies in Seattle. It doesn’t detract from my actual eye color at all like many blue products do. The grey in it also makes it perfect for not looking too flashy at work. Stila claims the smudge stick is waterproof. It made it through a full shower without movement at all. Even after patting my face dry after the shower it stayed on like a champ. B ecause of this I now have a new go-to pencil style eyeliner. I am still partial to my cream/gels but this is a close second.

Great saturation

These liners are much more flattering and beautiful than they seem. Creamy, the line stays put and can be applied lightly or thickly. Great for day or night. I did not leave 10 stars only because it does not stay put if drawn on the inner eyelid.

Disappointed...

I was really excited to get this in the mail after two weeks, but when I received it and tried it out, it was so hard to control because if you press too hard, the tip will fall out. I literally had to pull my eyelids up to be able to apply it in a straight line. When I swatched it on my had at Sephora and rubbed, it was great! But now that I actually used it on my eyes, and found out how hard it was to use, I probably won't be touching it again any time soon.

Goes on smooth & stays there...

I was all about UD eyeliners until they started dragging across my eye one day leaving patches of color in their wake. Not a good look! These Stila twist-up liners glide on so smooth. I get great coverage in a single sweep and the liner stays put whether I do some blending or not. The only downside is that they don't last long for the $20 price tag.
