Don't waste your money or time. Chips in less than 24 hours
The first time I used Essie Eternal Optimist nail polish, it started chipping badly in less than a day, so I thought it was my fault. I removed it, and this time I put a good quality basecoat first, then put two coats of the polish. I followed it up with Orly's In A Snap, Then I applied two more clear topcoats. It still chipped in less than 24 hours. The third time I did the same thing, but added one more coat of the Essie Polish. Three strikes and you're out, Essie nail polish. 10 Best Nail Polishes -
eh...
Was excited to get this after reading favorable reviews and finding some unique colors...resulted severely disappointed. It's so liquid it drips off the brush like water, impossible to get an even coat, takes up to 45 mins(no sh#t) to dry, and after at most a day, starts not even chipping but peeling off like a film. Amazing
I am in love with Essie polish. With Seche Vite top coat, my nails don't chip for a solid week! The colors are so unique and pretty. My favorite right now is Turquoise & Caicos. The shine is stunning, and you will not regret picking one of these up. Dries super fast
I have never come across a nail polish that dried so fast...this one dries super fast! My only complaint with Essie is that I can't find it all that easily, not enough stores carry it! lol I love the way it applies so smooth and pigmented, the color selection is nice and it is just overall a very good quality nail polish.This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

High-end, but not that high-end.
This is comparable to Sally Hansen nail polish, however, it has a larger range of shades. Up-to-date, I have four Essie shades--Shifting Power (gold), Chubby Cheeks (saturated red), Timeless (pink-mauve), and Midnight Cami (midnight navy blue). They seem to be very inconsisent with me. Shifting Power dries faster than all of them, and Timeless and Midnight Cami are the hardest to apply (of course ...read moreMidnight Cami would be, since it's one of the darkest colors Essie has to offer). Good Base Color
I always keep a bottle of Essie nail polish in Marshmallow around; I really like to use it as a base color under a sheer pink (usually either OPI's Sweetheart or Hopelessly in Love). It's a nice, opaque white with a very slight undertone of pink. good stuff!
I have just recent tried Essie mainly because of the cute little square bottles! They fit neatly into my polish basket. I had been an OPI, China Glaze and Orly wearer until now. After using two different colors, Very Cranbery and and Soiree Mauve with Essie I found that it's really long wearing and I loved the colors. The only problem that I've had with it is that the colors that I've chosen came...read more out darker then the bottle color with two coats. I'm still satisfied with the color, but would have liked to have had the actual bottle color and wonder if others have found this also. I have a third - Big Spender, waiting in the wings to be tried and purchased it knowing that it may come out darker. Essie can be purchased at Target, but they have a limited choice of colors. Trade Secret had a larger selection, but they don't give as much space to Essie as they do to OPI, which is a shame.
