Christian Siriano's Fierce Fashion Week Hairstyles

Designer Christina Siriano definitely "made it work" Thursday afternoon at New York's Lincoln Center when he mounted an ambitious fashion show that included his signature gorgeous gowns, fabled footwear and some seriously fierce hairstyles.

The Project Runway season 4 winner has definitely come into his own with the Africa, India and China-inspired Spring 2011 collection and stars like Maggie Grace, Veronica Webb and hot DJ du jour, Leigh Lazark, watched from the front row as he debuted a staggering 40 (!) looks.

And, it wasn't just the clothes that wowed, Siriano is also an accomplished shoe designer and, luckily for those of us who can't afford couture prices, he's designed a similar line of affordable footwear that will be available at Payless beginning next Spring.

But, while the clothing and shoes wowed, the models' hairstyles also had tongues wagging. Aveda's noted stylist, Antoinette Beenders had the girls sporting some wild textured and elongated buns that really stood out on the runway -- creating a wind tunnel effect.

“I love a suit. I love separates. I love a good pant," Siriano explained backstage at his show with his proud mom at his side. "We have to have that. You just can’t have gowns, even though we love that. I felt it was good to show a world of looks.” Not to mention a notable hairstyle.

Christian Siriano is clearly "having a moment" -- a great one.
