Emma Watson Got a Boy Haircut -- Do You Like It?

As always, teen movie stars who make a big hit get forever molded as the child role they played (think Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen as Michelle Tanner, Kristen Stewart as Bella, and the list goes on). This generation, the true type casted roles are the wand-wielding wizards of "Harry Potter." I can never take Daniel Radcliffe seriously without his lightning bolt scar. The usual reaction of these conflicted teens growing out of their adolescent bodies is to lash out. Case in point: Lindsay Lohan. Need I really say more? (If you don't know what I'm referring to, it's time to play pop culture catch up. Read about Lindsay Lohan here.) Unlike Lohan, "Harry Potter" actress Emma Watson, who plays the endearing little-miss-know-it-all Hermoine Granger, is tackling her coming-of-age with a bit more class.

She just got a haircut.

Or in this case, a hair-shave.

The British actress was in New York City this past week promoting the seventh installment of the "Harry Potter" series and decided to chop off her hair.

"Dear all," she wrote. "Cut my hair off a few days ago… Feels incredible. I love it. I’ve wanted to do this for years and years; it’s the most liberating thing ever. Hope you like. Big love from Emma x."

Gone are the frizzy locks of Hermoine and the chic lob she wore in the Burberry ads.

Watson wouldn't be the first young celeb to drastically cut her hair, with fellow actresses such as Hayden Panettiere and Carey Mulligan also chopping theirs off.

How do you like Watson's new 'do? Do you think it suits Watson better than her Hermoine hairstyle? If you like her haircut, check out these
daring dos that you can do too! But before you walk into any salon, make sure that you get the right haircut for your face shape.

Though she could have kept a bit more of her hair, the feel of the haircut seems more womanly for the now 23-year-old. Although she might want to use some wax or pomade on her new 'do so it doesn't blow up into the wind and look more like Elvis Presley's iconic pompadour than a chic cut.

Watson will begin her sophomore year at Brown University in the fall shortly before "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1" opens on November 19.
