We've already seen buzzy skin care ingredients like CBD, crystals and turmeric take center stage this year, but as the fall weather comes rolling in, you may be curious about what other trendy (and effective) ingredients are worth keeping on your radar.

Thankfully, the new season brings in some exciting new ingredient superstars that help address a variety of different skin conditions. And the best news is, some of these trendy ingredients are not very hard to find as big name skin care brands are already incorporating them into their product lines.

To break down what's on the fall ingredient forecast, we spoke to top experts (we're talking cosmetics chemists, dermatologists and more) about what ingredients are sure to make a major splash in the beauty sphere once the temperatures dip. Below are some trends — plus some handy product picks — they say you'll want to add to your shopping cart.

Probiotics
Since the skin has its own bacteria that is essential for maintaining skin health, cosmetic chemist Ron Robinson says we will be seeing more skin care products that contain probiotics (good bacteria) that can help address a variety of different skin concerns.

Unwanted breakouts is an issue probiotics can alleviate. First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Acne Clearing Charcoal Cleanser With Probiotics, $24, uses probiotics, charcoal and salicylic acid to keep those troublesome pimples at bay.

CBD
Although cannabis-based products have been gaining traction for quite some time now, Robinson says the CBD beauty trend will continue to trend this fall, especially since mainstream brands like Milk Makeup are incorporating the ingredient in their product lines. And it's definitely for good reason: CBD may reduce signs of aging and provides soothing and anti-inflammatory benefits to the skin, he says.

To add CBD to your beauty regimen, be sure to pick up Milk Makeup Kush High Volume Mascara, $24, which uses conditioning cannabis oil to thicken up lashes without any unwanted breakage.

Soy
"Soy is particularly useful in improving the appearance of dark spots in a gentle, non-irritating way," says Joshua Zeichner, director of cosmetic and clinical research at Mount Sinai Hospital. Zeichner says that soy-based products are a great way to help prepare damaged skin after summer for fall, making it something to invest in if those sunspots are becoming too much to handle.

To successfully brighten up any sun damage you may have developed over the summer, he recommends using Aveeno Positively Radiant Intensive Night Cream, $14.99, which contains total soy complex and vitamin B3 to leave the skin feeling smooth and looking radiant.

Single Note Ingredients
"Brands are continuing to launch more products that only contain one hero ingredient," Robinson says. These one-ingredient formulas can be used on their own or the consumer can customize to it to their own needs by blending with other formulas.

The Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, $72, is a great example of a stellar one-ingredient skin care product, as it only uses pure cold-pressed marula oil to keep skin balanced and hydrated.
