This holiday season might look way different compared to seasons' past — and hopefully it'll be different from the seasons moving forward. That said, the holidays don't have to be placed in a negative frame. The key is to be mindful, to practice gratitude, and to embrace the good. To channel and bask in that inner peace, we enlisted help from two mental health pros.
At two points in her successful career — she's a chief instructor at Barry's, a celebrity trainer to the likes of Julianne Hough, a frequent brand partner as well as a fitness model — Astrid Swan also became a mother of now two small children. And if Swan can juggle those highly demanding responsibilities... it seems fairly reasonable to assume we can juggle watching TV while working out.
I think we can all agree that, for obvious reasons, summer 2020 has been a bit of a letdown. While a drastic change in the status quo isn't forecasted for fall, the fact that sweater weather, pumpkin spice, and cool temperatures are upon does feel like somewhat of a reset. Also, come autumn, it simply feels more natural to cozy up inside. I will gladly usher in autumn weather, apparel and scents — and I'll start the best way I know how: with festive fall candles.
While gyms are opening in some cities, going to indoor ones is still considered a "dangerous activity" in many states. Given the current situation and the fact that there are a flood of Instagram Live and online streaming options, many people are now opting to sweat at home (a trend that's great for wallet health, too!).
