disappointing

I am a huge clinique fan and was totally stoked that they came out with these retractable cream stick eye shadows. I am sooooo disappointed. These are not the Clinique quality I have been accustomed to over the years. First of all, they are very sheer, not pigmented at all. I was told they are supposed to be buildable, but I got Pink and Plenty and it would not show up on my light/med. skin at...read more all, even layered, even on top of a shadow base. I vas very unhappy and exchanged it for Ample Amber and Fuller Fudge, which are still super sheer, but at least show up on my skin. They fade throughout the day. Even though I was careful with them, the shadow sticks both broke off from the base and now fall out of the applicator. Real disappointment with these. I would recommend skipping them, especially considering the price. On the plus, they are fragrance free, go on smoothly, do not crease, and do not irritate the skin. They also blend easily (do not be afraid of the darker colors, they are so sheer and fade so fast).

Easier Done than Said!

These crayon-like eye shadows are so darn easy to apply. I love any form of Chubby Sticks that Clinique wants to put out! But Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes is just a mouthful! The truth about these squat little eye pencils is that they're super smooth and easy to slick on your lids even if you're doing a last minute makeup application in the parking lot before your job starts. Although Cli...read morenique's newest powder eye shadows have an unbeatable quality to them, these little guys are great as an eye shadow base or alone. I prefer to use them as bases, personally, because I like a really bold eye shadow look. The colors of these are gorgeous and all of them have a lot of pigmentation with a metallic sheen. My favorites are Lots o' Latte and Ample Amber. The best base color is Bountiful Beige, but pair these with your favorite powder shades for a custom look too. And as with any chubby stick, you don't have to sharpen these (although you may have to reshape them if you put your eye shadow on with a heavy hand).

Crease Lines

I liked the easy application and color of the chubby sticks, but I found that the formula would end up in my eye lid creases by the end of the day. Perhaps this wouldn't happen if I used a primer on my eyelids, but I hate having to add an extra step when powder shadows don't have that effect on me.

I think they're wonderful!

I've never been much of an eyeshadow wearer, but these are so easy and pretty I've been wearing it every day! The colors I have, Ample Amber and Whopping Willow, take 6-8 hours to crease on my lids, which is an alltime record high. I find Willow creases about 2 hours faster than Amber. Still love love these shadows. I use them to line my bottom lid as well - fast and flattering.
