    What a mess!

So I bought this mainly because I don't like adding chemicals on my hair. My sister helped me put it on since I have lots of hair and it super long! It was so messy and once it dried my hair was so heavy I had to lay down because I thought my neck was going to break. Since it is Henna it does need to sit for a while. It took about an hour to wash it off since it leaves a granular residual. It did ...read morestate that it takes a few days so you can noticed the new hair color, in my case I saw no difference. Sad to say but this is the first Lush product I've dislike

    Not that god

I used to dye my hair with this henna a long time ago, besides being a henna it actually damaged my hair a lot, leaving it very dry. To be honest I prefer using any dying without amonia insead this henna.

    Good product...

I tried the LUSH Caca Rouge henna for my dark brown hair recently. My hair shows up as a pretty reddish-brown color in sunlight. This color is better for lighter hair, since it's almost unnoticeable in the shade or inside. It is a good option for people who don't want to deal with chemical damage. It gives moisture to the hair and made my my a bit straighter. I needed to use the whole block for my...read more hair since it is long & very curly. I left it in for about 4 hours. WARNING: the henna is very messy, so cover EVERYTHING in the area that you are using unless you want dye everywhere!

A little tricky, but worth it!

I dyed my hair for years. Every color you can imagine. So by the time I decided to give my hair a break it was shot. Once I began to let it grow out I realized that I was starting to go gray! I was convinced that I was going to have to start dying again, but then the girls at LUSH recommended that I try Caca Brun to match my dark brown hair. After the initial hassle of learning to use it I fe...read morell in love. It was like putting a hot mud mask on my hair and scalp. The color was a little lighter than my own but it was so soft and shiny and it felt healthy! On my next experiment with it I decided to mix brun and noir together and the result was perfect. I highly recommend this to anyone I know who wants to rid themselves of gray and not destroy their hair. A little tip: throw the block in the freezer overnight and then shred it with the fine side of a cheese grater. No lumps, dissolves easily with hot water.

Pretty, but a pain in the rear

I used the caca marron on my sister-in-law who has dark brown and chestnut colored hair. The marron of the henna brought out and added beautiful red highlights and resulted in a multi-faceted highlighted appearance. In effect, my sis-in-law looked beautiful after the messy, stinky, and complicated process was over. I have never used other henna dyes, so I can't compare its effectiveness to cheaper...read more alternatives, but my relative was happy with the results and the dollar amount she paid for them. The process, however, was less than spectacular and a huge pain. The dye was a bit clumpy (next time we are adding more water) but it was the consistency of brownie batter, the recommended thickness Lush suggests on their website and instruction packet. The 'brownie batter', however, created lumps that rolled off my inlaws head, resulting in a huge clumpy mess on the floor. I was constantly picking up clumps of dung-looking (which makes sense, given that it is made out of dung) material off the floor and shoving it back on her head. The smell was awful and stank up the entire upper floor of my house, causing my children to complain, and the dye stains floors and skin, so be careful and follow the directions--use gloves and cover floors with newspaper! Despite these faults, my sis-in-law said she would defintiely do it again as the red highlights were so spectacular.

    Depends

Henna would produce beautiful color IF your natural hair is dark brown, otherwise your hair will turn red red.

    Henna is o.k.

I agree about henna being a good conditioner, except my experience with it was different. The 1st time I used it my hair was soft and managable. When I tried to touch my hair up it came out hard and frizzy. I admit this was years and years ago. Has it changed much?
