Great for a rotation shampoo
Like many of the other reviewers, I have used this shampoo on and off for years. At first it was a great shampoo, however I found that it really works best as a rotation shampoo, meaning that it is one of the the shampoos I rotate so as to not have a build-up or have my hair get so used to it the positive effects don't really occur anymore. Not enough moisture
I bought Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Shampoo after my stylist recommended it for my dry, color treated hair. I am not impressed as it doesn't give my hair enough moisture. I use conditioner afterwards but i would stay away from this shampoo if moisture is what you are seeking. Yummy!
I just tried this shampoo for the first time. It smells like pineapple and coconut. I like the consistency and lather of this shampoo. It's a good basic shampoo.
Awapuhi is a softly scented, fairly gentle shampoo. It doesn't kick up a ton of lather but will get your hair nice and clean nonetheless. I don't recommend this for anyone with color-treated hair...I find it lacks the moisturizing properties that a color shampoo has. It is color safe, meaning it won't strip your hair.
