After trying a sample of this from my Allure magazine I realized my Laura Mercier primer was very lame. I have been using the light formula recommended by the salesperson at Sephora. Expensive ... and not worth it
OK, it feels good, helps makeup go on smoothly, etc. But no matter how carefully I apply, this product migrates into my eyes and stings. I found that Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum feels and works just as well, doesn't sting, and costs less than half what I paid for Smashbox Primer. Love it, but can't use it all
I love this primer. It is smooth and silky, and does a great job of priming my skin for makeup. My only problem with the product is the design of the bottle. When I pay $36.00 for a product, I like to use every drop, and the pump does not really allow me to do do that. There is always product left when the pump refuses to give me another drop. Over the right base this works well
Be careful when using this over several products (e.g., serum and SPF moisturizer) or it will pill. If I use it over just moisturizer, it works very well. The best primer? I'm not sure..
I am not as enamoured with this primer as I once was. I'm not sure if it's because I've since switched to powder mineral makeup, and I think this works best with liquid foundations. I more often use my bare minerals primer to "match" my bare minerals foundation now. Smooth it out
Smooths out your skin, locks in moisture in the winter, & helps your makeup stay on all day. A little goes a long way with this product so it's definitely worth the price.
