I think this product is excellent. Foundation goes on smoother,with less product, and gives me a great lasting finish. This is the best primer I've used. The Perfect Compliment to any Foundation!
I have a really hard time applying foundation all over my face without it looking unnatural. So for most of make-up wearing life, I've gone without it, using concealor in it's place. I heard about Smashbox Primer when it was just coming out on the market. With nothing to lose, I purchased a bottle to see if it really did what it claimed to do. I was completely amazed! I used a small drop and ...read moresmoothed it all over my face. It wasn't oily and felt like a feather had been brushed against my skin. I followed up with foundation and noticed it covered almost all my imperfections without looking cakey. Now my skin is very oily, accompanied with a few zits, some picked and scabbed over, and spots of discoloration in various places on my face. The primer seemed to cover and fill in areas that normally would look like I obviously was trying to cover stuff up and definitely not succeeding. I have never been so impressed with a product that lived up to it's expectations! Heaven Sent!
If the Goddess Aphrodite created cosmetics and skincare, she would have created Smashbox's Photo Finish Foundation Primer. I was highly skeptical at first, but now I don't go without it. It goes on so smoothly, it feels silky. I had feared it would be greasy feeling or that my makeup would slide right off. I was (happily) wrong! I've slightly large pores and am just beginning to get a couple ...read moreof tiny lines under my eyes. This primer evens out my skin for nearly flawless foundation. A small dab will do and it doesn't cause my skin to break out! Even with dry skin, it's too slick for me...and i was short-pumped!
i wanted to try smashbox photofinish primer because i'd read and heard some great things about it. its claims to fill in lines and pores for a flawless finish are a bit overstated, in my opinion. true, nothing's going to completely fill those laugh lines i've acquired, but if a product claims to "fill in" , one would expect it to "fill in" - at least enough to make a noticea...read moreble difference! (to the user, that is - not necessarily to others) this primer feels slick out of the bottle- and my skin had an oily feel to it after i applied it. to clarify, it did not make my skin "oily", but it definitely felt like it. another disappointment in this smashbox primer: the dispensing pump only went 3/4 down into the bottle!! what's more, even when new, the product was reluctant to come out. once it stopped dispensing, i ended up taking off the pump and taking it out with a Q-Tip. there was a LOT left in the bottle when the pump stopped dispensing, so think it's all gone once it stops pumping. my foundation did stay put through out the day, definitely a plus for this primer. i'd give this a rating of average (5) for a primer because it did seem to give my foundation "staying power", but it definitely loses points for not living up to its claims to "fill and perfect" and for scrimping on the pump dispenser!This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

A little tube of magic
This stuff makes my skin feel like velvet and my foundation just glides on, then stays put for as long as 14 hours. Occasionally, when I'm in a hurry or just lazy, I'll skip it and boy, do I regret it! I don't know how I ever managed without this product. I've tried other brands but keep coming back to Smashbox. And that little tube goes a long way - in fact, if you put too much on, you'll end up just having to wipe it off.
