The singer, who's been sporting a chic bob in recent months, suddenly started rocking long hair, thanks to new hair extensions.

Aguilera, pictured here with her pre-bobbed long hair, is going back to basics for her character. Though extensions are a lot faster than waiting for a bob to grow out, we're guessing that this hairstyle took a lot of hours in the stylist's seat.

Aguilera's hairstyle could be the perfect solution for ladies who are searching for a fresh look. Or if you went short and regret it, extensions can also be a quick fix.

Of course, it's a good idea to consult your hairdresser before making a change, but to get Aguilera's look, ask your stylist to cut off at least a half inch from your natural length to get rid of split ends. Then, ask your stylist to razor cut choppy, face-framing layers, if they will work on your hair type and face shape. Cutting layers will help any extensions you clip in or have professionally applied blend in with the rest of your hair.

Aguilera's new style also features bangs, so if they work for you, ask your stylist to cut them in. At home, bangs can be easily fluffed and curled with a curling iron.
