Angelina Jolie is Vanity Fair magazine's August cover girl and in the article, discusses having more babies, her charitable endeavors in Haiti and beyond, why she may quit acting and Brad Pitt's beard.
Pre-Bangs and Beard Scruff, Angie and Brad Hit the Premiere of "Inglorious Basterds" Last August
Speaking from the Venice set of her movie "The Tourist," (co-starring Johnny Depp) which has since wrapped production and is scheduled to be released next February, Jolie denied categorically that she's expecting again. "I'm not pregnant," she said. "We're not opposed to it. But we want to make sure we can give everybody special time. We want to make sure we don't build a family so big that we don't have absolutely enough time to raise them each really well."
And, raising them well involves contending with the fact that their daughter Shiloh "wants to be a boy." Jolie says that they "had to cut the 4 year-old's hair short and cops to the fact that they dress her like a "little dude." "She thinks she's one of the brothers," explains her mom who claims to have been the same way as a kid.
As for the rest of the brood, they're all doing well. Maddox is "an intellectual," Zahara has "an extraordinary voice and is just so elegant and well-spoken," and the twins Viv and Knox -- who'll be 2 in July -- are "classic boy and girl."
As for the never-ending rumors that she and Brad Pitt will either a) finally tie the knot at some point or, b) break-up, Jolie says that they're stronger than ever and that they're not "against getting married, it's just like we already are. Children are clearly a commitment, a bigger commitment. It's for life."
And, life chez Jolie-Pitt may soon change since the actress, whose new movie "Salt" hits theaters on July 23, says she may very well give up her career. "It's not the most important thing in my life. Acting helped me as I was growing up. It helped me learn about myself, helped me travel, helped me understand life, express myself, all those wonderful things. So I'm very, very grateful, it's a fun job. It's a luxury," she says but maintains that "I don't think I'll do it much longer... I have a happy home...I got back from work last night, and everybody was playing music and dancing" and, it seems, 35 may be the right time to retire.
And, who can blame her? Staying home (in fab abodes around the world), playing mom to all those kids and wife to hottie Brad Pitt doesn't sound like a bad gig. Although, really? Can't he cut off that scraggly scruff of a beard already? It really doesn't work for him. Not that Jolie minds. "I love Brad in every state" she says. So there.
