"Brands are continuing to launch more products that only contain one hero ingredient," Robinson says. These one-ingredient formulas can be used on their own or the consumer can customize to it to their own needs by blending with other formulas.

If you are into botanical extracts, Zeichner says it's worth giving bakuchiol a try. It's a botanical extract that actually works in a similar pathway as topical retinoids. He says bakuchiol has the advantage of being non-irritating, making it a useful ingredient for people with sensitive skin concerned with treating lines and wrinkles.
