Sleek 'Lob' (Long Bob)
As seen on: Gwyneth Paltrow and Naomi Watts
Works best for: Short (or longer lengths willing to go shorter), straight hair

The bob for this season is long, like summer days. Josh loves "the simplicity of this look" on stars like Paltrow and Watts because it frames their faces so well. For ladies with stick straight hair, this sexy and chic style can instantly add drama to, and depth to flat, lifeless locks. It does require some smoothing products to keep frizz at bay though -- especially on humid days.

Sleek 'Lob' How-To
Step 1: Wash and condition hair with frizz-fighting shampoo and conditioner. Do not towel dry.
Step 2: Spritz wet hair with heat-protecting product before you blow dry to protect against damage, fight frizz and give you a smooth and sleek finish.
Step 3: Blow hair out in sections using a round brush -- boar bristle is always best as it doesnt damage hair -- and be sure you aim the nozzle of the dryer downward to direct the hairs cuticle flat.
Step 4: Once hair is mostly dry, curl ends under slightly with your brush.
Step 5: Finish by applying a few drops of smoothing lotion and mist with hairspray.

Billie Holiday once sang "summertime and doing your hair ain't easy. Temperatures are jumpin' and the frizz is high." OK, OK so those aren't exactly the lyrics to her classic hit, but they are most likely the blues you'll be singing come June. It's hot, it's humid, and your hair needs some sexy summer stylin' for all those BBQs and beach bashes you plan on attending.

During the lazy days of summer your hairstyle should look sexy with minimal effort, but because we all know summer hasn't been lazy since high school, it is going to take a little bit of styling to prevent frizz and create hairstyles that keep you looking sexy day and night. Your best bet to beat the heat is to play up your natural hair texture with trendy hairstyles that work with your hair's natural texture.

To get the lowdown on the sexiest hairstyles for your hair this summer, we gabbed with celebrity hairstylist and International Creative Consultant for John Frieda, Harry Josh, who gave us all the details on what three celebrity hairstyles he finds sexiest and how you can perfect them just in time for the sun's favorite season.

See how Josh's A-list clientele (including Sarah Jessica Parker, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Kate Beckinsale) look in these 'dos and get step-by-step instructions on how you can pull them off as well. But before you get all fired up with these hot hairstyles, it is important to know that the head and scalp absorb more UV rays than any other part of the body -- it's true! So to safe guard your hair from damage, Josh says to prep hair with a protective product before styling. Try one of these reader faves:
