"I got dry shampoo for blonde hair and I bought an instant pimple zapper for morning and night. I've been looking for them for a while. I have long hair, and it takes a long time to shower and dry my hair. So on the days I don't shower, I'll use dry shampoo. I have a dry shampoo, but it smells bad and isn't as fancy as the Bumble and bumble one I just bought." -- Abby M.

"I got the Urban Decay eyeliner in black. I went in there with intentions of buying it. I've always used it and I can't use anything else." -- Vichy K.

"I got Too Faced eyeshadow and the bareMinerals Foundation. I was returning a Too Faced eye palette that I got as a gift. Then I remembered I needed a new foundation. I usually use the original bareMinerals powder, but I got the matte powder instead this time." -- Hally P.

"I normally use it and I just ran out. Sephora is where I get all my makeup." -- Sophie H.

"I bought a blue Sephora Eyeliner, $5, the Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue, $64, and Daisy by Marc Jacobs -- all in one day. I've been trying to get 100 Sephora points, but I never, never reach it." -- Michelle I.

When Holly Golightly gets the mean reds, she goes to Tiffany's and the sparkling diamonds put her right at ease. Us? We go to Sephora.

Before a date, an interview, or a nervous breakdown, we head straight to the beautiful black and white store that's filled to the brim with shimmery eyeshadow palettes and heavenly-smelling perfumes.

We figured we couldn't be the only ones indulging in makeup and other beauty goodies when we needed a pick-me-up. So we wanted to know: What are you buying at Sephora? Is it Murad skin care products, the cult-status Nars Blush in Orgasm, or simply a new nail polish for a cheap thrill? There was only one way to find out: Stalk the shoppers walking out of Sephora .

See what the beauty-obsessed are splurging on at Sephora now.

So we spent a sunny Friday afternoon lurking around the beauty store's entrance and running after the customers. Some avoided eye contact and hurried off before we could grab them (which is a somewhat understandable reaction to a journalist and photographer chasing after you in stilettos). But there were plenty of other shoppers who gabbed about their new finds. Want to see what was in their black and white bags? It might be better than the stuff that comes in a little blue box. At least, we think so.
