Tip 2:
Barose says to "opt for angular shaped brows to downplay the round shape [of your face]." That doesn't mean they should look severe though — "[they] still need to be soft." So lightly fill them in to define your arch using a brow powder (try Kat Von D Brow Struck Dimension Powder, $20, which emphasizes your brows without looking overly harsh).

Tip 3:
"Smoky eyes with strong liquid liners add definition to the face," says Barose. So after applying your smoky eyeshadow, finish off your eyes by lining them with liquid liner, such as the popular Fenty Beauty Flyliner Longwear Liquid Eyeliner, $20.

Tip 1:
Blend a rosy-toned cream blush like RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek in Modest, $36 on the apples of your cheeks. And, be sure to "avoid anything harsh or severe" like strong eyeliners or lip colors.

Tip 2:
Try a "soft sheer gloss or lip stain in pretty shades like sheer pinks or coral," says Barose. One to try: NYX Butter Gloss in Strawberry Cheescake, $4.99.

Have you ever seen your friend pull off a hot makeup trend, but find it looks wacky on you? It might just be a face shape thing. Your face shape can dictate whether that coral lip color Jessica Biel wore on the red carpet will look just as smoking on you... or not (same holds true for hairstyles, so make sure you don't commit the face shape haircut mistakes these celebs made). Basically, you want to make sure that you're wearing makeup that will enhance your features and aspects of your particular face shape, while minimizing your less favorite attributes.

Not sure of your exact face shape? Here's how to determine it: Put on a headband to get your hair off of your face. Look in the mirror at your hairline and chin line — you can even draw a few dots with eyeliner around the periphery of your face to help you see the shape. If you were to connect the dots would you create a square shape? Oval? Heart or circle? The answer to that question is your face shape. Once you determine your shape, check out celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose's customized makeup tips. This contouring aficionado offers up tricks on how to accentuate your unique face shape. You'll also discover your celeb face shape twin and get suggestions for key makeup and beauty products to yield your best look.
