Ginnifer Goodwin's Textured Pixie Cut
If you think you can't pull off a pixie cut because you have a round face, then you've obviously never seen Gennifer Goodwin. For round faces, the goal is to make a pixie cut more elongated by providing height at the crown, which Goodwin does here with the extreme teased texture. "The back is almost a barbershop boycut, which I love," says Smith. "A girl has to have so much style and confidence to wear a barbershop haircut -- it's definitely not for everybody."

A pixie cut can intimidate even the boldest of beauty babes. Whether it's because we've rocked the same long, wavy hairstyle since high school or because we're wary of how we'll look with close-cropped hair, there's no shortage of fears when it comes to considering a pixie cut.

But according to Vince Smith, owner of owner of Vince Smith Hair Experience in New York City, more and more women have been going shorter -- way shorter. "There are always cycles when it comes to trends," says Smith. "The trendsetters start things; the close followers go next; then when it's safe to assume the trend is here to stay, the A-listers will get on the style-train," says Smith. To wit: A-listers like Michelle Williams, Ginnifer Goodwin and Emma Watson are just a few of the celebrities who have taken the pixie plunge -- with gorgeous, envy-inducing results.

But if their flawless pixie cuts are not enough to convince you to go short, consider this: Your new, stunning 'do might come with a shot of confidence.

Amy Wechsler, MD, a psychiatrist in New York City, says women who have short hair "take risks, are independent and are more comfortable in their skin" than their long-haired counterparts. Smith agrees, saying, "Wearing your hair shorter allows your true beauty and confidence to show. A short hairstyle can really accentuate your best features, like your eyes, lips, or a graceful, long neck."

So without further ado, we bring you 19 pixie cuts that will look amazing on everyone no matter your face shape or texture.
