How to Do a Fishtail Braid, Step 3: Begin Weaving Use your finger to separate a small section of your hair from the outer edge near the elastic and cross it over to the opposite side (overlapping just like you would if you were doing a standard braid). Re-grip your hair to tighten plait, still holding two sections. Repeat with a small section from the other side.

I do it a completely different way and it has a whole lot easier compared to this one. Only your hair and one elastic is involved. I do it when my hair is wet and the braid stays all day. I just weave it, I don't use a "disposable" elastic like they do in this tutorial.

The model's hair texture is good for this kind of braid. I have "slippery" hair, and the braid just unbraids itself within minutes unless a lot of hairspray is involved. :)))
