Never learned how to fishtail braid? You're not alone. And this ethereal, intricate-looking 'do might look intimidating. But it's important to remember that braiding is probably the simplest hair skill to master. All you really need is a pair of hands and a hair tie — no hot tools or hair products necessary.
These fishtail braid instructions are easy to understand, and you only have to follow five simple steps. Plus, we've included clear, close-up photos so there's no need to pause and rewind.
Time to break out the elastics, stretch out your fingers and get ready to unleash your inner hair stylist. Keep clicking to see exactly how to fishtail braid.
I do it a completely different way and it has a whole lot easier compared to this one. Only your hair and one elastic is involved. I do it when my hair is wet and the braid stays all day. I just weave it, I don't use a "disposable" elastic like they do in this tutorial.
The model's hair texture is good for this kind of braid. I have "slippery" hair, and the braid just unbraids itself within minutes unless a lot of hairspray is involved. :)))
