2. Non-surgical Liposuction is not Liposuction -- liposuction involves an incision, typically small, so fat can be removed. Nonsurgical liposuction does not require an incision, generally involves some form of externally applied heat or ultrasound, and fat is slowly expunged from your body in not as precisely nor in as large quantities as surgical liposuction.

5. It's not magic, but liposuction uses "magic wands" -- also known as the cannula, these hollow, cylindrical wands vary greatly in terms of shaft length and diameter. The smallest diameter cannulas can precisely shape delicate, difficult to reach facial areas leaving virtually no visible scars and requiring no stitches. 6. Girdles are back -- compression garments generally must be worn 24/7 for several weeks whenever large amounts of fat are removed. Compression garments squeeze your remaining tissues together so you'll heal more smoothly, with less undesirable lumping. This is something to consider if the weather is warm or if you plan to wear more revealing clothing.

7. Drips and drains -- special fluid is injected during liposuction to serve two purposes: to further anesthetize the area and to carry dislodged fat away. Anytime a large amount of fluid is injected, some fluids will remain until it completely drains over 24-72 hours.
