Though spas and derm offices have started to open their doors again, the rise of COVID-19 cases in many states is enough to make us rethink taking a spa (or medi-spa) day. But just because some appointments may feel, well, non-essential doesn't mean that we don't miss them — or that we can't do our best to DIY that pro-assisted glow at home.
All the caffeine in a well-stocked artisan coffee shop will not make up for a good night's sleep (well, almost, but no cigar). The simple truth is, we humans need sleep, just like we need food and water. Without sufficient shuteye, countless areas of our lives suffer (as anyone who is currently dealing with disturbed sleep can probably attest).
As someone with oily skin, I don't always have the best luck with brow products. In fact, I've come to expect anything I use to fill in my brows to fade by lunchtime. But recently, I've been lucky enough to get my hands on some seriously long-lasting brow products, from gels to powders to pencils to pomades, that actually stay put on my naturally shiny skin — even in the summer heat and humidity.
Our skin can become dehydrated for a number of reasons. The most obvious, perhaps, is that we're not moisturizing as regularly as we ought to. Not-so-obvious contributors to dehydrated skin include: using really hot water to wash your face, not exfoliating regularly, free radical damage caused by UV rays and pollution, and — you guessed it — not drinking enough water.
