Simple Studs
The Look:
Last season's matte nails made a reappearance at Lela Rose with in this nude shade with simple studs on select nails -- just enough to catch the eye.

The Technique:
The clean nude base of these nails was created with Butter London Nail Foundation. Hughes applied nail art appliques (we like It's So Easy Hey, There Stud! Nail Art Kit) on the middle and pinky fingers of each hand for a sleek, modern touch.

Through the Windowpane
The Look:
Bibhu Mohapatra's spring/summer line was full of intricate patterns and linear formations, so it's only fitting the nails were just as graphic. Alternating white lines contrasted with black lines striped across the thumbnail.

The Technique:
Edwards used Broadway Nails Impress Press-On Manicure in So, So Stellar for the blush-colored base (a blush-toned nail polish also works if you're not a fan of press-on nails). Next, Edwards used Kiss Nail Artist Paint in white to paint two parallel stripes on opposite sides of each other, one line across the bottom, two across the top, and two sets of diagonal lines. But basically, you can create any striped design you'd like to get the same effect.

Denim Blues
The Look:
Two-toned denim blue nails looked gorgeously subtle in contrast with the bright yellow eye makeup at Angel Sanchez. We'll be recreating this look with two hues of every color in our collection.

The Technique:
Edwards created a custom blend of Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer in Varsity Jacket Blues and Morgan Taylor Make It Last clear topcoat to create the base of this nail art look. Next, Edwards painted a swoosh of Morgan Taylor's Who-Dini line close to the cuticle and up the outside edge of the nail. Finish with Morgan Taylor Need For Speed for high-shine.

Us trend spotters go back and forth on whether nail art is in or out, and whether it should be minimalist or bold and graphic. Regardless of what's in vogue, we'll always be fans of statement-making nail art -- and the nail looks at New York Fashion Week are some of our favorite designs yet. Fashion Week debuted gorgeous nail polish colors we're anxiously waiting for come spring, the new negative space manicure trend and a whole lot of intricate designs we're dying to DIY. Here, 12 Fashion Week nail art ideas to try at home.
