Summer 2013 Best (and Worst) Beauty Moments

Fall is here, but that doesn't mean we can't revisit this summer's greatest hits in beauty
Photo 1/19
September officially marks the end of summer, but we can't help but look back longingly on those languid, lazy days when our only care was finishing the first season of "Orange is the New Black" and slowly but steadily making our way through a 100-pack of freeze pops.

At Total Beauty, the summer was jam-packed. We tried a slew of new products (here, here, here, here and here, to name a few), hosted several giveaways (and a nail art marathon), and covered the latest in beauty news, from Miley Cyrus' hijinks to the new summer workouts that rival prancercizing.

We've soaked up the rays (under cover, of course), sucked down sweet summer cocktails, and now it's time to look back after another summer's end.

So order yourself a pumpkin spice latte (they're finally here!), curl up in your favorite fall sweater, and see some of our favorite best and worst moments of Summer 2013.

The Summer of Nail Art
We fully expected the wild, over-the-top nail art trend to play itself out, but what can we say? Y'all really love nail art.

Beyonce's Hair Chronicles
Beyonce made headlines when her hair got caught in a fan during a concert. Like the true, fierce force of nature she is, she kept right on singing. A few days later, she revealed a pixie cut, which then magically transformed into a bob.

Michelle Phan Goes Rouge...Er, Rogue
Our favorite YouTube beauty guru, Michelle Phan, launched her own makeup line.

A Blink-and-It-Dries Topcoat
We found our favorite can't-live-without-it, fast-drying top coat and we'll be using it on all the latest fall colors.
