Don't you dare sit home moping on Valentine's Day. Yes, it's traditionally a day for love — but for us singles, it's also a day for daring! A day for adventure! A day for learning! A day where we're not giving a second thought to anyone else's wants or needs! Honestly, who says you have to let good ol' V-Day get you down?

At any rate, we're choosing to celebrate the holiday in style. Click through for some great ideas for Valen-Time-For-Me Day.

Book a spa appointment
Girl, treat yourself! Get a facial, a massage, a pedicure — whatever makes you feel pampered and happy. This is YOUR day, after all, so sit back, listen to that yoga music and relax. If you're broke, indulge to a bath bomb and light some candles for some at-home spa love. Then, relax even more by digging into a good book or listening to a meditation app.

Book a trip
Get out of here! Any type of travel is amazing, but solo travel is particularly mind-opening and stretches us beyond ourselves. Invite other singles if you must, but a spur-of-the-moment trip by yourself is something you'll never forget. We travel a lot, and our secret weapon is Google Flights — it's super easy to use and is a great way to find low-cost trip options. So take a ski vacation, or lounge on the beach for a weekend. Whatever YOU want... not anybody else.

Have a dinner party
Get your single friends together and have yourselves an anti-Valentine's Day dinner party. Dust off your cookbook and prepare your specialty... or just get takeout from the Chinese place, and serve it on fancy plates. Include wine, beer and/or a signature cocktail (like the Cupid's broken arrow), for maximum fun. Then, top it all off with your favorite dessert. One rule: No discussing the L-word ("love," that is. You're welcome to discuss the television series).

Night at the museum
You're brilliant, you're cultured, you're refined. Prove it by going to the museum. Spend as long as you want staring at your favorite painting, and get inspired by the sculptures. If you're craving more movement, head to the movie theater for a documentary, and learn about something or someone you've never heard of.
