Why we love it: It's been extra cold and dark lately (thanks to the end of Daylight Savings), but that doesn't mean our nails need to reflect our surroundings or sleepy demeanor. Why not try a geographic, pop-art inspired manicure that looks like it jumped off the pages of a comic book and onto your fingertips? Pretty splashes of shiny red mix with pops of nude and crisp black outlines (plus, we love the use of negative space). Each nail is slightly different from the next, which'll encourage your friends to get up close and check out the details.
To get the look: Use Jin Soon Nail Polish, $18, in Ardor, Absolute Black and Nostalgia.
Why we love it: The seasons are changing — so are our nail polish choices. We're smitten with this blue-gray hue, accented in cream and white. The mix of colorblocking, negative space and tiny striping details make us yearn to cozy up in our favorite sweater (PSL in hand) and brave the chilly outdoors.
To get the look: Use KL Polish, $9.50, in Paper Snow, Wishbone and Cozy in There?.
Why we love it: It's here. Halloween is this week and we're psyched. This blood drip manicure is the perfect way to end the month of creepy cool Halloween nail art. Iridescent, opal polish makes the perfect shimmery base while deep, metallic crimson creates realistic droplets of blood. The darling duo of polishes looks amazing worn separately or together in this frighteningly festive design.
Why we love it: We're seeing orange everywhere this season (it's fall, after all). We love its unexpected appearance in this angular blue manicure. The vibrant tangerine hue outlines the negative space cutouts and adds depth and intricate detail that makes both shades pop. No need sport dark nails yet, we love these bright colors just as much.
To get the look: Use Essie Nail Polish, $9, in Butler Please and Meet Me At Sunset.
Why we love it: Halloween is only two weeks away we're using this time to try out all of the fall nail looks. We especially love this use of the seasonal shades, in an unlikely pairing of matte and shiny. If you're not into pumpkins, ghosts and other Halloween nail art, try this matte black manicure topped with pretty orange and green holographic flake nail polish. The spook-tacular duo is a great way to celebrate the season, minus any kitsch and it's supereasy to recreate.
Nail art is one of those photogenic beauty trends that we could look at all day long. Somehow, scrolling through photos of nail art designs whipped up by nail art icons like Deborah Lippmann, Jin Soon and Paintbox is simply addictive — whether we plan to execute the nail design ideas or not.
That's why we're bringing you our #ManicureMonday series — where we show you the simple nail art, endless nail design ideas and other ridiculously pretty nails that we're finding and loving.
