This spring we're all about making the most of this cocktail of colors, especially when it comes to implementing the year's hottest nail trends. Steph Stone created these rainbow nails, which capture the essence of sunny days with their vivid color and beach-y, sand-swirl-like water marble design. Though they seem thoroughly modern, half moon nails are actually a throwback to the '30s, when it was the de rigueur way to paint one's nails. Today, we find this vintage style all over the runways and Instagram. Not only is the simple nail design a chic way to incorporate complementary colors, half moon nails are incredibly easy to DIY. We're particularly entranced with this clean-cut nude and white combo by Sophie Harris-Greenslade (aka The Illustrated Nail), which turns the traditional French manicure on its head. This gorgeous, minimal matte manicure is courtesy of the infamous NYC nail studio, Paintbox Nails. While summer is known for hot romances, wild nights on the beach and an overall high energy of the season (hello, neon nail colors), there is a softer side to summer. This particular pastel nail design, with its robin egg blue hue and sweeping white line, stirs up memories of collecting seashells at a summer beach house. These sandy shades transport us so much, we can almost hear the ocean waves crashing against the shore.
