Mani of the Week: Water Droplet Nail Art
Created by: @mpnails

You know what we love? Nail art that is so unique and subtle, it stands out more than a flashy look-at-me manicure. That's how we feel about these understated water droplet nails, created by Sally Hansen Global Color Ambassador Madeline Poole. Though they look like they took an hour to create, these water nails really take only about 10 minutes (lazy girls rejoice).

To recreate the look, start with a base coat (try Dolce & Gabbana Protective Base Coat). Once dry, apply your favorite beige nail polish (we love OPI Nail Lacquer, in Act Your Beige!). To create the water droplets, take a clear nail polish like Sinful Colors Nail Polish Clear Coat, and gently dab small bubbles on your nail with the end of the application brush, a toothpick or a dotting tool. Be sure not to apply too much polish at once, as you're going for droplets --not streams. Continue to do this on all of your nails, and let them dry for a good couple minutes. Once dry, apply a top coat for added protection, then go debut your sick-as-hell nails right then and there.

Mani of the Week: Suicide Squad Nail Art
Created by: @ohmygoshpolish

With over $133.6 million in ticket sales opening weekend, it's safe to assume you're probably as excited about the release of "Suicide Squad" as we are. To channel our excitement (and inner villain), we gave our digits the Arkham Asylum treatment -- that is, a manicure with just the right amount of crazy.

You can thank ohmygoshpolish for this killer nail design, which took a nail polish squad to create. The nail art master used Floss Gloss Nail Lacquer in Mrs. Tony Montana, Wavepool, Con Limon, Pony and Maliboob Job, and OPI Nail Lacquer in Keeping Suzi at Bay with top coat INM Out the Door Matte.

Mani of the Week: Beige Nails
Created by: @kseniakost

When you think of feminine nail art, a few things probably come to mind -- like pink or red nail polish, and maybe even a little bling if you're feeling exuberant. While we love quintessentially girly nails, sometimes we like to wear something that's just as delicate, but a bit more understated -- and unexpected.

Russian nail artist kseniakost created this dainty and chic nail design using China Glaze Nail Lacquer in Don't Honk Your Horn and MoYou London Nail Stamps in Hipster 06. Who needs the frills and lace to show off your girly side, when you've got a lattice nail design that is equally eye-catching -- and even matches your morning latte? Basic? Maybe. Chic AF? Oh, yeah.

Mani of the Week: The Modern French Mani
Created by: @aliciatnails

OK, truth time: It's hard for us to think about French manicures without conjuring housewives, sorority girls and brides from the '90s. However, over the past few seasons, we've been seeing new interpretations that make the manicure cool again. Case in point: This colorful French manicure created by OPI manicurist Alicia Torello for Creatures of Comfort at NYFW. It's simple, clean and colorful, with an unexpected geometric element that takes things up a notch. To steal the look, simply swipe on and alternate using OPI Nail Lacquer in Stay Off the Lawn, Eurso Euro, Unequivocally Crimson, My Twin Mimmy and Charged Up on your tips, and lock in the polish with a top coat (we love OPI Top Coat). Finish the trendy look with a gold triangle decal at the base of the nail.

Mani of the Week: A Moody Blue Fall Nail Design
Created by: @formulaxnail

There's nothing quite like nail art that's as effortless as it is chic. After all, most of us are not blessed with the dexterity of a professional manicurist. So when a striking, minimalist nail design, like this look from Formula X, pops up in our Instagram feed, we take note.

The neat swipes of polish create a put-together look, while the moody color scheme captures the melancholy-tinged transition from summer to fall. To copy this nail art, use Formula X Nail Polish #ColorCurators: Atlantic Pacific Edition in Atlantic Mist, Pacific Haze, and Taken by Storm. The post-summer blues never looked so good.

Nail art is one of those photogenic beauty trends that we could look at all day long. Somehow, scrolling through photos of nail art designs whipped up by nail art icons like Deborah Lippmann, Jin Soon and Paintbox is simply addictive — whether we plan to execute the nail design ideas or not.

That's why we're bringing you our #ManicureMonday series — where we show you the simple nail art, endless nail design ideas and other ridiculously pretty nails that we're finding and loving.
