Make green eyes look big and bright by using similarly toned shades around the eyes. "I would for sure use green eye shadows and pencils on green eyes," says Lake. "My favorite shades of green are ones that have iridescence and shine to them."

"Green eye makeup can intensify the green in your eyes and make the look super fun," says Liu. "Darker colors tend to be subtler and easier to wear than the lighter ones." She recommends using a shimmery forest green eyeliner like It Cosmetics No-Tug Waterproof Anti-Aging Gel Eyeliner in Lucky Jade, $22.

Hayden Panettiere's mint-green eyeliner shows how eye-brightening (and fun) green eye makeup can be. Take a page out of her book by focusing brightly colored eyeliner on your upper lash line only. Balance out the brightness with neutral makeup shades on your eyes, lips and cheeks.

Strategic eye makeup isn't the only way to play up green eyes; contrasting cheek and lip shades can make them sparkle, too.

"Greens always stand out best when paired with cheeks and lips that fall in a red-toned family," says Maxwell. "A pop of red-hot gloss completes my interpretation of the classic red lip and contrasts beautifully with green eyes." She recommends Smith & Cult's The Shining Lip Lacquer, $22, in The Warning.

Fleischman suggests a "soft, romantic look with berry or mauve cheeks and lips" to flatter green eyes. Liu also loves mauve for the lips and cheeks; she recommends It Cosmetics Vitality Lip Flush Lipstick Butter, $20, in Darling and It Cosmetics Ombré Radiance Blush, $24, in Sugar Plum.
