24 Drugstore Makeup Products Beauty Editors Swear By

These holy-grail drugstore picks are just as good, if not better, than their more expensive counterparts

NYX Faux Blacks Eyeliner, $8
If I look for anything in an eyeliner pencil, it's a long lifespan. Eyeliner pencils are amazing for blending colors, adding definition to the eyes and creating a smoky eye look. However, in my experience that smoky eye quickly turns into a smudgy, I-look-like-I-just-woke-up eye. Which is no bueno when I need it to get me through the workday or a shot-filled evening out. NYX Faux Blacks Eyeliner is my prince among frogs.

Not only does the creamy eyeliner apply smoothly and last all day, it holds up in the waterline (which is a definite rarity for me). The eyeliner collection comes in eight shades, which range from a fiery red to deep indigo. All of the pencils provide a nice, rich pigment, and thanks to the non-traditional colors, each color makes the eyes pop. — Jessica Amaris

Burt's Bees BB Cream, $15
I am all about incorporating natural products into my beauty repertoire, especially when it comes to products that I put on my skin. I particularly love BB creams because they cover up imperfections, but they also allow my skin to breathe and blemishes to heal. This BB cream from Burt's Bees does all of those things, while offering medium coverage (which is great when I have a breakout), SPF 15 and imparts a dewy, but not too shiny finish. It lasts all day and my skin is visibly clearer after repeatedly using this instead of foundation. — Hannah Savin

I'm a sucker for coral hues. Case in point: There are no fewer than six orange lipsticks sitting on my desk right now. So when this quad crossed my path a few weeks ago, I was immediately smitten. (The adorable packaging didn't hurt, either.)

The versatile, peachy pigments, which work as blush, highlighter and shadow, are the perfect mix for creating a minimal, fresh-faced look. For mornings when I'm in a rush or getting ready at the gym, this, plus a mascara and lipstick, are all I need.

As we've come to expect from ColourPop, the colors — from peach gold to red-hot coral — are extremely pigmented and long-lasting. The slightest touch with my brush is enough to brighten both cheeks.

While not a true drugstore makeup brand — you can't drop into your local pharmacy and pick up the palette — it does come at an extremely reasonable drugstore price. — Jill Provost

While I'm totally here for the matte lipstick trend, my lips aren't always. So the go-to I stash in my purse is this silky formula from Almay. The sheer, buttery lipstick moisturizes my lips without skimping on the pigment factor.

Speaking of pigment, it's easy to find your most flattering shade. There's a berry, a pink, a nude and a red specially designed for three different skin tones (light, light/medium and medium). And indeed, the Red/Light color is the perfect punch of crimson for my lips. — Mary Squillace

Even though I have a dozen concealers in my makeup stash, I reach for this one almost every morning. It rolls on easily with a nice cooling sensation, the coverage is just enough, it never gets cakey or creased, and it has plenty of brightening light-reflective particles for instant glowy gratification. While it's on the sheerer side, I've used it to successfully cover a breakout in a pinch. A tube also seems to last forever — I probably should've tossed mine months ago (oops). — Dawn Davis
