Okay, so it may not be the Instagram wonderland that is the Museum of Ice Cream, but you'll see some really great things on a trip to your local museum, which makes it a fun date idea on a budget. You'll have a lot to talk about, and a lot of freedom -- strolling around together can feel less limiting than your traditional dinner/movie combo.

Try: The Natural History Museum

So, maybe fine art isn't exactly you're thing... but maybe science is. And honestly, can you think of anything that sets the mood better than dioramas of cavemen, and giant dinosaur fossils? Come on.

Try: A Baseball Game

Actually, this one works regardless of whether or not you actually like sports. If you're a fan, spring for good seats and watch the action up close. If you're not? Sit in the nosebleeds together, and eat disgusting nachos and over-priced ice cream while you boo, cheer, and do the wave like you actually know what's going on. Plus, fireworks always make for a romantic date night! If that's too expensive, consider cheap seats at a college game.

Try: A Bike Ride

Whether you're a hardcore cyclist or just a regular non-cycling civilian, a duo bike ride can make for a great date idea. You don't have to go full bicycle built for two (unless you want to, of course), but it's kind of romantic regardless. Plus, it's a great way to explore new parts of town together -- and you'll be getting your daily dose of cardio.

Aquariums get written off as a kiddie activity, but they're actually pretty fun for all ages. Plus, think about it -- there's built-in mood lighting, and all those beautiful colorful fish can be quite romantic.
