Fine Hair Shampoo No. 3: Davines Volu Shampoo, $26
Ever since New York City's master colorist, Chelsey Pickthorn, introduced me to Davines, I've been in love. While the aesthetic initially lured me in, the results held my interest -- and Volu's a standout product in a standout collection. The gentle, frothy formula lathers up to lift hair at the roots while creating buildable volume all over. It's lightweight, it smells great, and it's gentle enough to use every day if you must. I'm sold.
Fine Hair Shampoo No. 2: Oribe Shampoo for Magnificent Volume, $42
If I told you that you could wash your ultra-fine hair once every three to four days you'd probably laugh in my face. But then, like me, you'd try this magnificent volume shampoo only to realize that it is, in fact, magnificent. When you have ultra-fine hair, the slightest bit of oil can be super easy to spot and before you know it, it takes over your whole head. But not with this shampoo. Created with body-building polymers that uplift and thicken strands, this shampoo gets to the root of the problem to revive limp locks with a series of rare botanicals. What's more, it smells like a vineyard, it's color- and keratin treatment-safe, and it provides UV protection. Does it get much better than that?
Fine Hair Shampoo No. 1: R + Co Texturizing Cactus Shampoo, $24
You know those two seconds where your hair looks absolutely perfect after pumping it full of about a million volumizing products? This texturizing shampoo gives you that look without the fear of fallout. Not kidding. For me, the biggest indicator was when I ran my hand through the deeper side of my part to give it a little boost of volume in the front. Typically when I do this hair-flip move it instantly falls back into place, tightly hugging my forehead. But with this shampoo it's like you've not only washed your tresses, but styled them to perfection, too. The secret behind this shampoo's hair transforming abilities is the way it's meant to be used on its own without any conditioner. While this definitely creates the best volume, texture and thick appearance my hair has ever experienced, I do sometimes feel as though my ends are a little parched, which is why I always pair it with a few spritzes of the Davines Oi All-In-One Milk. Together, these products have made me fall in love with my once fine, flat hair. They might just do the same for you.
