The coolest runway nail looks you'll want to DIY ASAP

Marvelously Metallic Manicure
To match all the neutral shades in Phillip Lim's Spring/Summer 2016 collection, Sally Hansen manicurist Madeline Poole added a metallic twist to the earthy tone nail color. To achieve the look, she used two coats of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in All Bark. Then, she applied metallic striping tape for the thin lines and metallic graphic design tape for the thicker lines. For those looking to steal the look, Poole warns not to use a topcoat because it will cause the tape to lift.

Tri-Tone Tips
Inspired by "a juxtaposition of the scaffolding-filled city and the softness of the country," Morgan Taylor artist Gina Edwards created a tri-tone manicure for Jonathan Simkhai. Using a base of diluted Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer in Prim-rose and Proper from Morgan Taylor's Spring 2016 collection, a stroke of Could Have Foiled Me was applied on each of the tips, and a bold swipe of Water Baby to the cuticle line.

Deconstructed French Manicure
Morgan Taylor's lead artist Danielle Candido gave a modern spin to the classic French manicure for the Zero + Maria Cornejo show. Rather than clean cut and symmetrical, Candido deconstructed the manicure using Morgan Taylor Lacquer All White Now topped with Mattes a Wrap for a paint-splatter look.

The Bold Ballet Slipper
Inspired by designer Marissa Webb's signature shoes, nail artist Miss Pop worked with Orly to create a minimal yet bold nail design.

To get the look, file nails into a ballet slipper shape (elongated oval with a squared off tip). Apply one coat of Orly Bonder Basecoat to nails. Create a crisp white canvas by applying two thin coats of Orly Nail Polish in White Tips. Wait until dry. Next, using Orly Instant Artist in Jet Black, draw a thin line upwards from base to tip, one-third of the way into the nail on the left-hand side. If you don't have a supersteady hand, Miss Pop recommends painting thin strips of artist's tape black with traditional lacquer (try Liquid Vinyl) and place on dry nails. Finish the look with Orly Polishield 3-in-1 Topcoat for a high-shine finish.

Beautifully Bejeweled
Naeem Khan's Spring/Summer 2016 collection showcased ornate, bejeweled pieces. To match the collection, Essie artist Julie Kandalec of Paintbox nail studio mimicked jewels trailing down the nail by pairing a nude base coat of Essie Nail Polish (we recommend Ballet Slippers, naturally) with a sprinkle of silver glitter at the cuticle.

While most eyes were on the dresses and jumpsuits that came down the runway at last week's New York Fashion Week, we were laser-focused on models' manicures. If the nail art looks we saw most often are any clue to what will be on trend come spring 2016, we forecast minimalistic and geometric nail designs, along with wild splatter, ombre and dark, moody nails.

For nail art that needs to go straight from the runway to your nail bed, these NYFW nail designs are easy to recreate and will have your fingers looking runway chic in minutes.
