The trick to holding on to your red
"Red fades the fastest, but you can maintain it at home easily," Backe says. Dye only the roots, leaving the length alone. Try a medium reddish blonde for a look like Jennifer's. Have a salon balance the color every three months. Between colorings, use a color-protecting shampoo and conditioner.

The skin
To neutralize Jennifer's reddish undertones, Turnbow starts by applying a primer (try Fresh Face Primer, $30). Then she applies a tinted moisturizer and concealer (under the eyes) to finish smoothing and brightening her complexion. Do you need a primer? Pick one of the best.

The makeup
"The right makeup is key to making a new hair color look natural," says Turnbow, who used tones from Jennifer's bold hair and her eye color -- golden-orange eye shadow (try Bare Escentuals i.d. bareMinerals Eye Shadow in Citrus Twist, $12) and a shimmery peach blush (try Nars Blush in Deep Throat, $25). She finishes the look with a universally flattering pinky-peach gloss (see our favorite glosses here).

Jennifer after
"I should've been born with this hair color!" Jennifer says, adding that her new look has inspired her to spend more time on herself, find new ways to style her hair (curly and straight), and play with makeup at the cosmetics counter.

Our makeover dream team -- celeb stylist Ted Gibson, owner of Ted Gibson Salon in New York City, and celeb makeup artist and Beauty.com spokesperson Tina Turnbow -- will give Jennifer modern hair and gorgeous makeup.
