Miley Cyrus
The look: Messy bun
Step 1: If your hair is slippery or fine, apply a volumizing spray or mousse (try Frederic Fekkai Instant Volume Spray, $19.50, or Victoria's Secret So Sexy Volumizing Mousse, $9.50) and rough dry hair with a blow-dryer and your hands (not a brush) for added texture.
Step 2: Create a side part and pull hair into a low pony. Secure with a hair elastic.
Step 3: Loosely twist the pony and wrap it around the hair elastic (bun-style). Secure with bobby pins. Keep the shape messy. (Your hair will naturally start to wrap around the elastic as you keep twisting.)
Step 4: You can loosen the twist with your fingers if you want a messier look.
Step 5: Pull out a few tendrils of hair around your face and curl them with a small-barreled curling iron.

Reese Witherspoon
The look: Classic glam wave
Step 1: Apply mousse or styling spray (try Victoria's Secret So Sexy Volumizing Mousse, $9.50, or Alberto VO5 Extreme Style Volume Blast Styling Spray, $3.79) to the ends of hair and blow-dry, curling ends under with a medium-sized round brush.
Step 2: Create a deep side part. On the side with less hair, curl ends with a curling iron. Hold the curling iron diagonally and angle curls toward the back of the head. Remove the hair from the iron and pin the rolled-up curl while still hot.
Step 3: On the side with more hair, divide hair near your face into three horizontal sections. Use a curling iron to roll hair up toward the scalp, holding the iron horizontally. Take the hair out of the iron and pin hair up while curls are still hot.
Step 4: For hair on the back of your head, curl ends under with a curling iron.
Step 5: Once the front curls have cooled, remove pins. Lightly brush shine serum through hair to soften the curls. Tuck the side with less hair behind your ear and spritz with hairspray.

Mischa Barton
The look: Wavy half-up 'do
Step 1: Apply a volumizing spray or mousse (try Aussie Opposites Attract Styling Mousse, $3.99, or Frederic Fekkai Instant Volume Spray, $19.50) to damp hair and roughly blow-dry with a blow-dryer and your hands, not a brush, to get a wavy texture (if your hair's straight. Curly hair types can use a diffuser).
Step 2: Divide your bangs into two sections and use a medium-sized round brush to blow-dry each section while angling the brush to the side for a feathery look.
Step 3: Use a curling iron to curl random sections of hair.
Step 4: Gather the top section of hair (from ears forward) and pull it to the back of your head. Loosely clip with a barrette (half-up style). Position the clip so it slightly lifts the hair at the crown of your head.
Step 5: Lightly spritz hair with flexible-hold hairspray.

Ashley Tisdale
The look: Romantic pony
Step 1: Blow-dry hair as you normally would and create a side-part.
Step 2: Brush the sides of hair up for more volume, then roll and pin them along the sides. (This works well with layers and long bangs.) Use the tail end of a teasing comb to gently loosen the sides of your hair for more volume and spray with hairspray.
Step 3: Pull the rest of hair into a loose, low pony and secure with an elastic.
Step 4: Wrap a section of hair around the elastic to hide it and bobby pin into place.

The look: Chic bun
Step 1: Distribute mousse or volumizing spray (try Frederic Fekkai Instant Volume Spray, $19.50, or Victoria's Secret So Sexy Volumizing Mousse, $9.50) through strands and rough dry hair (use a blow-dryer and your hands, not a brush).
Step 2: For straight hair, curl ends with a curling iron for more texture and volume.
Step 3: Pull hair into a high pony and secure with a hair elastic. Wrap hair around pony into a bun shape and pin into place.
Step 4: Use your hands to spread the bun out, giving it more volume and making it a little messy.
Step 5: Pin any loose ends that come out in the Step 4 process around the bun. Spritz with hairspray.
