K.T. Tunstall
The blonde streaks on either side of K.T.'s head look like clip-in hair extensions (hopefully they are). The less two-toned "love it" look is much more feminine.

Mischa Barton
Blonde, brown and even a hint of orange all make an appearance on Mischa's head in this "leave it" look -- and it's just too much. The brunette strands in her "love it" look are much more polished.

Rihanna
Maybe she was trying to evoke a cat-like vibe to match her leopard print dress, but these streaks are too costume-y. Her jet-black look works better with her edgy cut to keep the look from being too overdone.

Lindsay Lohan
Platinum blonde with dark brown roots -- enough said. The richer, dark "love it" look is much more put together (and way less maintenance).

Eve
It's never easy for African American girls like Eve to pull off lighter hair colors. She does it successfully in the "love it" look with a warm all-over hue that's subtly highlighted, but the streaky "leave it" look seems too forced.

Highlights are a perfect way to add dimension to your hair, making it appear full and vibrant. When done right, hair looks like it's been kissed by the sun. When done wrong, highlights can give hair a striped, skunk-like look -- not pretty. Check out our fave and least fave celebrity hair highlights, then offer up your opinion: Did they go too far or are their streaks just right?
