Teased French Twist
Works on: Medium to long hair

What you�ll need:
Blow-dryer
Bobby pins
Teasing comb
Spray wax
Hairspray

How to:
Step 1: Roughly blow-dry hair or let it air-dry.
Step 2: Distribute spray wax through dry hair for added texture and mist with hairspray for hold.
Step 3: Lightly tease hair all over to increase volume and texture.
Step 4: Divide hair horizontally into two sections.
Step 5: Roll the top section inward and pin the roll to secure it. Repeat with lower section. (See photo A.)
Step 6: Mist with hairspray to set.

Girly High Pony
Works on: medium to long hair

What you�ll need:
Blow-dryer
Flatiron (optional)
Round brush
Flat boar-bristle brush
Hair elastic
Lightweight shine serum (Farber used Kerastase Reflection Chroma Protect Polishing Cream, $34.)
Hairspray
Pomade
Bobby pins
Curling iron

How to:
Step 1: Blow-dry hair straight with a round brush and follow up with a flatiron to straighten if necessary.
Step 2: Apply a dime-sized amount of shine serum throughout dry hair.
Step 3: Using the boar-bristle brush, brush hair into a high pony and secure with an elastic.
Step 4: Use the pomade to smooth flyways or frizz in the front of your hair for a sleek look.
Step 5: Take a two-inch section of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic, securing it underneath the pony with a bobby pin. You can use multiple sections to fully cover the elastic if necessary. (See photo A.)
Step 6: Divide the hanging pony into one- to two-inch sections and curl the midshaft to ends with a curling iron. (See photo B.)
Step 7: Spritz the top of your head and ponytail with hairspray to set the look.

Slick Side Part
Works on: Short hair

What you�ll need:
Blow-dryer
Round brush
Smoothing serum (Farber used Bumble and bumble Brilliantine and Kerastase Lumiere Nutri-Sculpt Leave-in, Luminizing Film-Cream.)
Fine-toothed comb

How to:
Step 1: Blow-dry hair straight with a round brush.
Step 2: Make a deep side part and tuck hair behind ears.
Step 3: Using a fine-toothed comb, distribute smoothing serum through hair until hair has the wet/sleek look.

40�s Side Roll
Works on: Medium to long hair

What you�ll need:
Bobby pins
Curling Iron
Hairspray

How to:
Step 1: Curl hair all over with a curling iron so hair has loose curls/waves.
Step 2: Divide hair into top and bottom sections horizontally, with most hair in the bottom section. Clip top section out of the way for now.
Step 3: Divide the bottom section in half vertically. Starting from the bottom of hair, roll up and pin with bobby pins at the nape of the neck. Repeat with the other side. (See photo A.)
Step 4: Divide top section of hair into four sections vertically and pull them across (move the left sections over to the right and the right sections to the left) and pin to cover lower-section bobby pins. (See photo B.)
Step 5: Spritz with hairspray to set.

Four-Braid Masterpiece
Works on: Medium to long hair

What you�ll need:
Hair elastics
Bobby pins

How to:
Step 1: Create a side part in hair.
Step 2: Make two French braids (one on each side) starting at the forehead hairline and going around the edge of the hairline to the nape of the neck. Secure each braid with a hair elastic. (To learn how to French braid, watch this braiding how-to video.)
Step 3: Create a zigzag part down the middle of the remaining (middle) section to divide it.
Step 4: Create two more French braids with the rest of hair starting at the top of the head and going down to three inches above the nape of your neck. Secure with hair elastics.
Step 5: Twist the ends of the four braids into a low bun and secure below the two middle braids with bobby pins. (See photo A.)
