Easy Hairstyles for Long Hair: Bride-y Waves
Time it took us: 5 minutes

Works on:
· Curly or wavy hair, or straight hair that's been curled with a 1-inch barrel iron

Stuff to have handy:
· Shine serum
· Light-hold hairspray
· 6-10 small bobby pins
· 2 large bobby pins
· Rat-tail comb or pencil

How to get this easy updo for long hair:
Step 1
Start by refining your curls. For straight hair, use the curling iron to add curl. For curly or wavy hair, smooth over hair with shine serum to eliminate frizz.
Step 2
Tease a very small section of hair in the back of your head near the crown. This is the place where you will anchor your bobby pins.
Step 3
Part hair in the center or slightly off center (stylist's choice).
Step 4
This hairstyle is created using the "pin and drape" method. To do this, loosely take locks of hair and bobby pin them to the section you previously teased. Use small bobby pins, and hide them as well as you can.
Step 5
Once all of your hair is pinned up, slide a pencil or the tail of a rat-tail comb under the section of hair in front of the pins and pull up slightly on it to add volume.
Step 6
Lightly mist hairspray all over.
Step 7
Attach a bobby pin or small clip to your favorite flower/brooch. It should be placed in your hair somewhere in between the back of your ear and the back of your head. Secure with two large bobby pins.
Step 8 (optional)
Loosen up one or two small pieces in front if you want some free-flowing wispy hairs around your face.

Easy Hairstyles for Long Hair: Party Girl Pomp
Time it took us: 5 minutes

Works on:
· Medium to long hair
· Wavy or straight
· Clean or dirty hair

Stuff to have handy:
· Sectioning comb (rat-tail comb)
· Small bobby pins
· Hairspray

How to get this easy updo for long hair:
Step 1
With all hair down, separate out your bang section. The best way to gauge the width of this section is to use your eyebrow arches as a guide.
Step 2
Tease underneath the bang section slightly. (Too much and you'll see evidence -- not a good look.)
Step 3
Smooth out the top layer of that section and pull it back.
Step 4
Twist the section once then secure with 2 large bobby pins.
Step 6
Adjust the bump with your fingers to be sure you're happy with the height and smoothness. Then spritz with hairspray.

Easy Hairstyles for Long Hair: Side-Swept Bun
Time it took us: 5 minutes

Works on:
· Medium or long hair

Stuff to have handy:
· A hair stick, or bracket thingy like the one pictured
· Shine serum or spray
· Comb
· Hair elastic

How to get this easy updo for long hair:
Step 1
Make a deep side part with a comb. Apply a bit of shine serum all over and comb through to tame flyaways.
Step 2
Gather your hair into a low side pony behind the ear opposite your part. Secure with a hair elastic.
Step 3
Wrap the tail up toward your ear, then under the pony (into a bun), leaving the ends free.
Step 4
Pierce the bun with your hair stick, making sure to thread one end of the stick through the elastic before letting it pop out the other side. This holds the bun in place.

Easy Hairstyles for Long Hair: Hello, Sailor
Time it took us: 10 minutes

Works on:
· Medium or long hair
· Dirty-ish hair -- a day after shampooing

Stuff to have handy:
· 1-inch curling iron
· Bobby pins
· Hairspray

How to get this easy updo for long hair:
Step 1
Make a side part. Starting with the bigger side, gather front section from the ear to your part and smooth it so the hairline is bump-free. Then twist several times upward toward your part. (See inset photo No.1.)
Step 2
Secure the hair along the line of the twist with several bobby pins. At the end of the twist, criss-cross bobby pins to anchor the twist in place. Repeat on the smaller side.
Step 3
Divide the hanging hair in back into 1-inch sections and wrap around a curling iron. Hold the barrel vertically to create a spiral.
Step 4
Once all sections are curled, mist with hairspray and shake your hair gently to loosen the curls.

Easy Hairstyles for Long Hair: High-Volume Pony
Time it took us: 5 minutes

Works on:
· Medium or long hair
· Dirty hair

Stuff to have handy:
· Headband
· Comb
· Hair elastic
· Clip (to hold hair out of the way)

How to get this easy updo for long hair:
Step 1
Divide hair from ear to ear over the top of your head. Clip that front section out of the way.
Step 2
At the crown of your head, take a two-inch section of the remaining hair and tease the area near your scalp to create the bouffant behind the headband. Messy is fine; we're about to cover it up anyway.
Step 3
Un-clip the front section and smooth it back over the teased area, gathering all your hair into a low pony. Reserve a one-inch section of your longest hair and secure the rest with an elastic.
Step 4
Wrap the reserved hair around the hair elastic and secure underneath with a bobby pin.
Step 5
Slip on a headband.
