Easy Hairstyles for Long Hair: Pin-Up Curves
Time it took us: 10 minutes

Works on:
· Curly or wavy hair in any length
· Straight-haired girls can pull it off too with five extra minutes of curling iron time

Stuff to have handy:
· 1-inch curling iron
· Bobby pins
· Hairspray
· Clip (to keep hair out of the way)

How to get this easy updo for long hair:
Step 1
Run your index fingers from mid-ears toward the back of your head until they touch at the back of your head. Pin up the top half of your hair to get it out of the way for now.
Step 2
Gather the bottom of your hair at the base of your neck. Now, make a "roller" out of two fingers, and fold your hair up to the clipped section. (See inset photo No.1.) Bobby-pin it in place. Messy is fine; the pins will be hidden by the curls you'll make on top.
Step 3
Remove the top clip and free the sides of your hair. Re-clip the top bang section.
Step 4
Pull a side section down and back (the direction is important), then twist upward and secure with bobby pins so it lays flat. (See inset photo No.2.) Repeat with other side.
Step 5
Now comes the fun part: curls. Holding the iron horizontally, wrap a 1-inch section of hair from the crown of your head around the barrel. After five to 10 seconds, unwind it and stretch the curl back 'til it hangs over the bobby pins from step 1. Be sure to break up the curl a little with your fingers.
Step 6
Repeat until you've curled the whole top section and mist with hairspray.

Easy Hairstyles for Long Hair: Braidy Lady
Time it took us: 5 minutes

Works on:
· Medium to long hair
· Wavy, curly or straight
· Freshly blow-dried or unwashed hair

Stuff to have handy:
· 1 small clear hair elastic
· 4 small bobby pins
· Texturizing cream
· Light hold hairspray

How to get this easy updo for long hair:
Step 1
Part hair where you usually do. Side or middle will work.
Step 2
Grab a section on each side of the part. (Section should be about as wide as two fingers.)
Step 3
Loosely braid both sections toward the back of your head where they will meet. Apply a dab of texturizing cream or pomade to the bottom of each braid so it doesn't unravel easily.
Step 4
Use a clear elastic to secure both braids together in back.
Step 5
Carefully slide the bobby pins in under the braid, along your scalp. This will keep the loose braids from falling out.

Easy Hairstyles for Long Hair: Swept Away
Time it took us: 10 minutes

Works on:
· Any hair length
· Wavy or straight hair that is loosely curled
· Unwashed hair

Stuff to have handy:
· Hairspray
· Bobby pins
· Shine spray

How to get this easy updo for long hair:
Step 1
Flip hair upside down. Mist hairspray all over the bottom while scrunching strands, and flip head back up. Spray the top while scrunching.
Step 2
Tease the under layer of hair where the up 'do will be secured (middle, back area of your scalp). This will help build volume to which you can secure the 'do.
Step 3
Start slightly twisting and pulling 3-inch sections of hair toward the area you teased. Save your bang section for last, so start just behind that area and work your way down. Balance is important when doing this; whenever you pull a section from one side, take a similar section from the other side. This will prevent your look from being lopsided.
Step 4
Bobby-pin each section to the teased area (see inset photo) -- criss-cross the pins to really anchor hair in place. After each section is placed and pinned, lightly mist hairspray on that section and smooth it out with your fingers.
Step 5
Complete this romantic up 'do by pinning back your bang hair. This way, you can control how much volume, if any, you want in front.
Step 6
Spritz shine spray all over and do one final mist of hairspray.

Easy Hairstyles for Long Hair: The Audrey
Time it took us: 10 minutes

Works on:
· Medium to long hair
· Blow-dried straight hair that has some volume

Stuff to have handy:
· Sectioning clip (see photo)
· Lots of bobby pins
· Hairspray
· Shine spray

How to get this easy updo for long hair:
Step 1
Split hair in half, creating a top and a bottom section.
Step 2
Clip the top section out of the way.
Step 3
In a messy, rough way, create a mini-French twist using the bottom section (see inset photo No.2) and pin with bobby pins. Don't worry about what this looks like; it will be covered eventually.
Step 4
Once the bottom is secured, release the top section and create a side part.
Step 5
Tease the crown area of your head to add volume. Spray hairspray underneath that teased area for hold.
Step 6
Gather the top section as if you're going to make a ponytail, but don't. Instead, tuck and roll the section inward into a French twist.
Step 7
Using several large bobby pins, slide them along the inside seams of the twist to secure. Using smaller bobby pins, secure the outside of the French twist seam by tucking them into the hair.
Step 8
Smooth out the front if it looks messy then do a spritz of shine spray followed by hairspray.

Easy Hairstyles for Long Hair: Vintage Vamp
Time it took us: 10 minutes

Works on:
· Medium to long hair
· Unwashed hair

Stuff to have handy:
· Bobby pins (large and small)
· Hair elastic
· Hairspray
· Shine spray
· Large-barrel curling iron
· Fine-tooth comb

How to get this easy updo for long hair:
Step 1
Using a large-barrel iron, curl the bang section of your hair forward.
Step 2
Clip the section into place (see inset photo No.1). We'll revisit it later.
Step 3
Pull the rest of the hair into a tight, low, side ponytail. Make sure that it's bump-free.
Step 4
Using the curling iron, curl the whole side ponytail in an upward angle.
Step 5
Once the ponytail is curled up, spray it well with hairspray, then roll it up toward your scalp and secure it with bobby pins. You'll need lots of bobby pins, large and small, to be sure that the roll stays in place.
Step 6
Once the roll is secured, take the clip out of the front bang area, allowing the big curl to fall.
Step 7
Using a fine-tooth comb, smooth the front section over to the side the roll is on (see inset photo No.2). After combing it a couple of times, it will turn into a nice retro wave. Once that happens, spray with hairspray, then bobby-pin the ends to the roll.
Step 8
Finally, spray all over with hairspray and give it a minute to dry.
