Most celebrity hairstyles garner praise and admiration, but these horrible hairstyles left us scratching our heads. Why on earth would any A-list celebrity take such a crazy risk by sporting one of these over-the-top styles? Probably because they wanted to stand out in the crowd, right? Well, we guess it worked -- just not in a good way!

This freaky faux-hawk unfortunately did nothing to flatter Fergie's face, she should have ditched the wacky look and gone with a sleek straight style or soft, tousled waves like these.

This look would work for Halloween, but for any other day, it's just too much. A good rule of thumb when it comes to updos -- you should wear your hairstyle, it shouldn't wear you.

Carmen must have gotten stuck in a tornado on her way to this event -- either that or she's working on becoming the next bride of Frankenstein. Sorry Carmen!

Though JLo wasn't the worst offender on this list, we still don't understand why she chose to wear such a larger-than-life hairstyle. This giant pouf must have given her a monster headache. An updo like this would have been much more flattering and easier to wear.
