Tweezerman International
Tweezerman launched in 1980 with a single product -- the Splintertweeze -- and it was an instant best-seller. Two years later, the company introduced the Tweezerman Slant, $22, to the beauty world. It's still the company's No. 1 seller.

Estée Lauder
Perhaps the most well-known American beauty brand, the company was officially established with just four skin care products by Estée and her husband, Joseph Lauder, in 1946. Esté is also the woman behind the creation of Clinique, Aramis, Prescriptives, Lab Series Skincare for Men and Origins. Today, Estée's children and grandchildren are involved with the ever-growing beauty brand that gave us anti-aging staples like Advanced Night Repair serum, $92.

Stila Cosmetics
Raised in Europe, Jeanine Lobell was working as a makeup artist in Los Angeles when she created Stila in 1994, focusing on high-quality products and fun packaging. Favorites include the brand's two-in-one Convertible Color, $25, a double-tasking cream blush and lip tint in one mirrored compact.

What started in Maine in 1984 as small candle company whose products were made with unused wax from Burt's beehives -- yes, the bearded man on the packaging is real -- can now be found across the globe. The brand now offers products for virtually every skin-care need; we carry the Beeswax Lip Balm, $3.30, in every bag.

Naturopathica
Much as the name suggests, Naturopathica was founded with the intent to use only natural ingredients, safe enough for even the most-sensitive skin. Anti-aging products like the line's Beech Tree & Ginseng Daily Moisturizer, $56, use vitamin- and nutrient-rich ingredients like goji berries, beech tree extract and ginseng to diminish fine lines while smoothing and tightening the skin.

We've never been the kind of gals to go all crazy with the patriotic spirit on July 4. Don't get us wrong, we love this country and what it stands for -- the land where dreams are realized, no matter where you come from. Sounds hokey, but roll with us on this one.

Despite the fact that you won't catch us at a 4th of July parade wearing red, white and blue, waving American flags in our hands (or worse, with American flags painted on our cheeks -- let's leave that to the kiddos, shall we?), we're all for supporting the U.S.A. And that's why this Independence Day, when we're wearing summer's hottest trends to our friends' annual barbecues (and our local 4th of July parades), we're going to reach for some of these American beauty products.
