Flapper Faux Bob
Dying for a bob without actually going for the chop? This faux bob is the perfect alternative. Soft waves and a deep side part give it a vintage-inspired feel that's stylish and chic.

1. Wash and blow dry your hair as usual. Create a deep side part, then mist your hair all over with a heat protectant spray, like Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray.
2. Starting from the back, curl sections of your hair using a curling iron. Make sure you curl your hair under in the back and toward your face in the front. Spray each section with hairspray as you go.
3. Once all of your hair is curled, brush through once with a paddle brush. Use your fingers to shape your face framing pieces as desired.
4. Tuck pieces under and secure using multiple bobby pins.
5. Finish with a flexible hold hairspray and vintage jeweled comb for a retro style.

Roaring Retro Waves
A signature Gatsby hairstyle would be nothing without finger waves. Even celebrities like Charlize Theron and Jessica Alba have been wearing this romantic style on the red carpet. Here's how to achieve the same Hollywood glamour look -- without a professional stylist.

1. Apply a smoothing balm, such as Pantene Pro-V Restore Beautiful Lengths Smoothing Balm, to damp hair and allow it to air dry naturally.
2. Create a deep side part, and then mist your hair all over with a heat protectant spray. Then, section off a layer of your hair starting at the nape of your neck.
3. Mist each section with hairspray then curl the section using a medium-sized curling iron. We love Infiniti by Conair Professional Ceramic Curling Iron. Clamp the section at the root, then wrap the iron under, releasing, wrapping, and reclamping until you reach the end of that section. Hold for a few seconds, and then pull the iron out so that the section remains curled. Pin to hold.
4. Keep your hair curled and pinned for about 10 minutes. Then release your curls and brush through them using a vented brush, such as the Revlon Vent Brush.
5. Continue brushing and shaping your waves inward to achieve your desired look. Use pins to hold the front section waved and then spray with hairspray to hold.
6. Mist your hair all over with hairspray, and then add a statement feather pin to finish.

We've all got it right now: Gatsby fever. From the window displays at Tiffany's and sneak peeks of the jaw-droppingly gorgeous costumes in the movie, to the star-studded soundtrack and hints of Gatsby-esque style showing up everywhere...We can't get enough.

Baz Luhrmann's "Great Gatsby" promises to deliver some serious eye candy (in addition to Leo, of course). In line with the era's decadence and glitzy hedonistic romps, the movie will be bursting with color and eye-catching visuals. But most of all, we're excited for the elaborate costumes, hair, and makeup.

Since flapper fashion and the Jazz Age are back in style this summer, you'll want to be perfectly practiced in the art of 1920s hairstyles. That's why we recreated four of our favorite looks: the blunt bob, glam curls, retro waves, and a faux bob.

But before you start thinking there's no way you could create a faux bob on your own, don't panic. We've made it easy by breaking down each look step-by-step. And you don't need to have a '20s-themed costume party penciled in on your calendar in order to wear these looks. These hairstyles are really versatile, and they'll look perfect at any summer cocktail party.

We've created hairstyles that are inspired by the jazz age but have a modern twist. So, instead of trying to suppress your Gatsby fever, embrace it.
