Sponsored: Skyfall by OPI, $8.50
Got any Bond fans, wannabe Bond girls, or nail polish junkies in your fam? Choose one of these 12 OPI shades inspired by the newest film in the franchise, "Skyfall," and other films over the past 50 years. Go all out and stuff your favorite nail fanatic's stocking with all 12, or pick and choose your favorite shades for the women in your group.

First, this limited edition kit is beyond chic. Second, it has eye, lip, and cheek colors, so it's a great all-in-one palette for any makeup junkie.

I know, this trio is way too big to fit into a stocking. But, you can break it out of the box and make three people very happy when they see one of these beautiful little jars of heavenly-smelling bubble bath among their loot.

Burt's Bees Travel Basics, $14.99
Even though the box is cute, I'm going to pull everything out and jam it into my sister's stocking. I don't know anyone who doesn't love Burt's Bees lip balms, and the travel-size hand cream is the perfect addition to any purse this time of year.

Even though the youngest member of my family is a freshman in college, my mother still insists that "Santa" is responsible for the contents of our stockings. And it would seem that the jolly old man has a penchant for tacky holiday-themed socks, '80s-era scrunchies, and packs of Juicy Fruit.

It's a shame, really, since there's no shortage of adorable, stocking-sized goodies out there that would be much more warmly received.

If you're playing Santa for your family, or just want to pass along some friendly hints, check out this guide of cool drugstore stocking stuffers. All of them meet my strict criteria for a quality stocking stuffer:

1. It has to be something the recipient would actually use after Christmas.
2. It needs to feel like a splurge or treat (no toothbrushes or combs).
3. It's got to be cheap, because no matter how impressive a stocking stuffer is, it tends to get lost in the shuffle of the real gift unwrapping session that follows.

So, why not step up your stocking game this year? You can snatch up these gifts at your local drugstore, Target, or Ulta.

Here's hoping my mom is still reading my stories ...
