Award shows like the Golden Globes give all us normal, non-famous people the glorious advantage of spectatorship. We get to sit back in the comfort of our couches, cheese puffs in hand, and mock, obsess-over, scoff at, laugh at, love, or hate the hairstyles, makeup looks and dresses parading down the always fabulous red carpet. What's more fun than that?

Skip to see how to easily recreate the best 2011 Golden Globe hairstyles now.

To us, the only thing better than judging the best celebrity hairstyles like some sort of Roman Emperor surveying the gilded crop, is getting the inside scoop on how we can recreate the ones we love sans a hairstylist. You see, despite not being a celebrity, we still get to put down those darn cheese puffs (put down the cheese puffs already) and attend fabulous parties, fancy dinner dates, or fun nights out that too are worthy of gorgeous hairstyles. So to help you master the hairstyles we went gaga over while watching the red carpet and the Golden Globes presentation, we gathered the looks we loved and asked celebrity hairstylists (most who actually created the red carpet looks themselves) how to easily copy the styles seen. They gave us detailed step-by-step how-tos for all the hot trends like sleek French twists, big curls, and soft flowing waves.

Celebrities who are sporting the winning styles: Mila Kunis, Emma Stone, January Jones, Anne Hathaway, Dianna Agron, Eva Longoria, Kyra Sedgwick, Amber Riley, and Tina Fey.

Mila Kunis
Celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak shares how she created this "modern French twist."

How-to:
Step 1: Spray a light-hold hairspray like Dove Flexible Hold Aerosol Hairspray with Natural Movement, $4.99 on damp hair and rough blow dry with your hands to add body.
Step 2: Section off top half of hair and spray a volumizing spray like TRESemm 24 Hour Body Root Boost Spray, $8 to give lift at the crown.
Step 3: Blow dry the top section, and use a large barreled curling iron to add wave and texture to just the top section of hair.
Step 4: Pull the bottom section of hair back tightly and gather into a low pony without securing it. Start twisting the pony upward, starting at the nape of the neck, and insert pins in a crisscross pattern along the twist until you reach the top section of hair.
Step 5: Brush top section backward and tuck underneath French twist. Pin to secure.
Step 6: Set hair by misting it with a stronghold hairspray like John Frieda Luxurious Volume All Out Hold Hairspray, $6.99.

Anne Hathaway
Celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel shares how he created "a refined but casual bohemian style" with long waves.

How-to:
Step 1: Start by applying a volumizing mousse like Fekkai Advanced Full Blown Styling Whip, $23 and a texturizing spray gel like Sexy Hair Double Header Volumizing & Texturizing Spray, $9.99 from the roots to the ends of damp hair.
Step 2: Blow dry hair lightly with your hands, letting any natural wave pattern show through.
Step 3: Using a one-inch barrel curling iron, take two three-inch sections of hair and curl the hair away from the face, placing into pin curls (use duckbill clips to hold the curls in place) before letting the curl loose. Let curls cool fully before removing clips.
Step 4: As you remove the pin curls, let the hair fall naturally into place with a center (but slightly messy) part to achieve the bohemian vibe. Finally, secure the look by spraying with stronghold hairspray.

Kyra Sedgwick
Celebrity stylist David Lopez shares tips for recreating this fresh, sophisticated pony.

How-to:
Step 1: Prep damp hair with a styling mousse like Aussie Real Volume Styling Mousse, Maximum Hold, $4.99 to create texture. Then, blow dry hair straight with a flat paddle brush.
Step 2: Wrap large sections of hair around a large barrel iron to give a slight wave to just the ends.
Step 3: Use a fine-tooth comb to lightly tease the crown of your head before loosely pulling hair into low ponytail with a clear elastic. Section out front layers, middle part them and leave them hanging.
Step 4: Finally, take a small section of the ponytail and gently wrap it around the elastic. Tuck the ends of the section into the base of the ponytail with a bobby pin or two.
Step 5: Mist with a flexible-hold hairspray like Dove Flexible Hold Aerosol Hairspray with Natural Movement, $4.99 to keep the ponytail touchable and bouncy.

January Jones
Celebrity hairstylist Renato Campora shares how he created this "old Hollywood glamour" look with a "modern twist."

How-to:
Step 1: Working with wet hair, start by applying a volumizing mousse to your roots and smoothing cream like Frederic Fekkai Coiff Controle Ironless Straightening Balm, $25 from mid shaft to ends to create volume and smooth out your hair.
Step 2: Create a deep side part and blow dry hair using a large round brush.
Step 3: Set your hair in large hot rollers and let the look sit for 10 minutes. Once you release the hair from the rollers, brush through it to create volume and the seamless curled shape.
Step 4: Spritz a stronghold hairspray like TIGI Hard Head Hard Hold Hairspray, $15.99 all over for long-lasting hold.
